Surfing in Siargao

Siargao is an island located in the Philippines and has the most famous surf spot in the country, Cloud 9. The wave was discovered in the late 80s by a group of American surfers and it’s known for being one of the best right hand barrels in the world. All the attention around Cloud 9 made this surf spot very crowded and even received the nickname of “Crowd 9” but General Luna area where the wave is located has many other surf spots so it's not hard to find a quiet line up with great waves.

The best surf spots are Barrio, Caridad, Cloud 9, Horseshoe, Mabuntok, Pacifico, Pansukian, Pilar, Rock Island, Stimpy’s and Tucson Point.
