The only International surf summer camp in Spain
Nomad has been organising Junior Summer Camps in Europe since 1995.
Surfing is our passion and we want to share this with you. Our goal is to offer you the best summer holidays and teach you how to surf, having a great time and meeting awesome people from all over the world who will become friends for life.
In Cantabria we have a maximum of 64 kids per week and the surf summer camp is for Teenager boys and girls between 13 and 17.
Modern state of the art hostel built especially for surf camps, walking distance to the beach, and has a carver ramp easy for beginner skateboarders. If you like Skate boarding besides surfing, then this is the surf camp for you.
We operate the only Multinational surf camp for kids in Spain, where we host teenagers from Russia, Italy, UK, France, Switzerland, Belgium, USA, Canada, and many other countries. All activities done in English although we offer optional Spanish or English language lessons.
We pick up at two major International airports, Santander airport and Bilbao airport.
THE ACCOMMODATION
Our surf camp for Teenagers in Spain
We are proud to say there is no other surf summer camp in the world with accommodation as comfortable as this one. This modern accommodation was thought of and specifically built for a surf camp for young people, and its located only 5 minute walk to the beach. It’s a peaceful and quiet holiday/residencial area. It is very safe and pleasant to walk around. There are a few restaurants and supermarket walking distance but not much more besides the beautiful beach, soccer and basketball courts and skateparks.
Rooms
– 32 CAPSULE ROOMS for BOYS in 2 rooms of 16 capsules per room with shared bathrooms outside.
– 32 CAPSULE ROOMS for GIRLS in 2 rooms of 16 capsules per room with shared bathrooms outside.
Capsules
The surf camp consists of 4 large rooms with 16 private capsules inside each.
Designed for comfort and privacy, each capsule bed has room to charge electronic devices and a luggage drawer for belongings.
The high quality mattress measures 200 x 100 and includes pillow, sheet, duvet and a towel.
Of course, there is WiFi and air conditioning throughout the whole building.
The Food
The 160 m2 restaurant is equipped with canteen-style tables. Its tasty menu combines local food with international dishes based on a street food concept. Variety of flavours prepared by the chef and his team.
Breakfast is buffet style and very complete. Th lunch consists of starter salad or soup and main course, drink and dessert. Dinner same as lunch: Starter can be nachos etc, And main course can be Pizza, Pasta, chicken etc. Always dessert and drink.

Spacious lounge to chill, socialise, and movie popcorn night.
Surf Shop
Shop where you can buy surf wax, t-shirts, hats etc
3 Skate parks
At the surf camp’ premises there is skate bowl for carving (Surf skate) small enough for beginners to start and practice their surfing turns. Best way to master the rail to surf technique. We recommend you bring a Smoothstar, Yow, or Carver skateboard this summer.
Walking distance 50 metres is a Skating Pump track.
And 7 minute walk in Somo is a Skate bowl where you can skate or watch the local skaters shredding.
For Parents
We have dedicated many years to the practice and teaching of surfing, so Nomad Surf Camps organised this Surf Camp for kids in Spain with great enthusiasm, specialising in minors. The boys/girls will be supervised at all the times both in the surf lessons and activities extras we developed for their free time by our monitors. They will be surfing, doing sports and having fun but with the maximum security for them. The entire team of the surf school are qualified surf instructors.
Green pass: Unaccompanied free time
Freedom to walk out of the surf camp on their free time unaccompanied is also allowed with parents authorisation. Ask us for more information.
THE ACTIVITIES
Activities at our surf camp for kids in Cantabria
What language is spoken at our Spain teen surf camp?
We are an International Junior surf camp, and the only surf camp for kids in spain where all activities are done in English.
Optional English or Spanish language lessons
We offer optional English or Spanish language lessons. 5 days a week, 1 per day. Certified native teachers. Kids attending the language lessons will not miss any important activity.

Surf Lessons
Every day there is surf, mostly 2 surf lessons per day (morning and afternoon), for how long depends on the conditions, our goal is to have 4 surf hours per day. Qualified surf instructors who speak English. All surf equipment included.
Surf Levels
We offer three surf levels:
–First Time surfing or only surf a few times a year.
–I can paddle on my own and stand up
–I bring my own short surf board and want to get better
How are the waves in Loredo?
The beach in front is Loredo and very good for beginners also for protected from the wind thanks to Santa Marina Island in front. At the edge of Santa Marina breaks a famous wave in big swells. And walking down the beach you can surf Somo. It is the perfect place for learning to surf and super fun beach break for rippers who already surf.
Skate Class included in our Spain kids surf camp
There is one skate carving class per week included ib the packages. It includes the skateboards and all the safety helmet and protections during the class.
Surf Skate ramp (carving) at the camp
As you may see in our photos there is a carving ramp at the camp. We suggest you bring your skate board.
Somo Skate Bowl
Besides the skate carving ramp at the camp, there is the Somo skate bowl few minutes walking.
Excursion to Santander
We get on a pleasant ferry river crossing from Somo to Santander. In Santander we walk through the Sardinero, a large, bustling gold sand beach featuring a lengthy promenade & the Piquío Gardens. We visit the historic Palace of Magdalena over 120 years old.

Where exactly is our surf summer camp in Spain?
Located in Loredo beach, 5 minute walk from the beach, only 15 minutes from Santander (Cantabria) and 1 hour from Bilbao. Loredo is a beach that connects to Somo beach.

This Surf camp for children in Spain starts in the afternoon. Check-in after 4 PM
On check out day, the departures in the mornings after breakfast, although we can drop off at a later time if necessary.
