La Nord (Hossegor)

La Nord is a very popular surf spot located north of Capbreton that can handle pretty much any swell. The outside bank have high quality right handers that break into the channel. The left handers can be good as well but catching them means paddling back with no channel and getting pounded by heavy water. Vertical take offs leading straight into fast barrel are the rule at La Nord.  This surf spot can handle most tides but usually is optimal at mid tide. Expect a crowd even when the waves are small since the SUP crew likes the spot. Best conditions happen with 5 to 15ft W-N swells, E winds and mid tide.
