Surfing in Wairarapa

Wairarapa is located on the southeast corner of the north island of New Zealand. The strategic position on the right corner of the island allows this area to have a 90 degree swell window that can capture any swell from east to south. Wairarapa has lots of high quality surf spots to explore and not many surfers around so crowds are not an issue.

The best surf spots are Cape Palliser, Castlepoint, Christmas Bay, Dolphin Bay, Lake Ferry Beach, Ngawi, Riverdale, Seconds, Stony Bay, Tora, Whatarangi and White Rock Point.
