Surfing in Vezo Reef

The Vezo Reefs consist of two barrier reefs, two coral banks, three lagoon reefs and a fringing reef located on the offshore of Madagascar. This area is known for receiving most of the SW swells that hit the coast of the island and for having consistent offshore winds making it the perfect setup for some epic waves. The harbour of Tulear makes it possible to access and explore the 700km of varied coral reef formation that hosts some spectacular waves.

Best surf spots in Vezo Reef

There are just a few registered breaks in the area but with more and more surfers exploring the area it is just a matter of time until some real gems are found. The most well known surf spots are Chefs, Flame Bowls, Googles, Jelly Babies (Anakao), Puss Puss and Resorts.
