Surfing in Southwest Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a beautiful island located in the northern Indian Ocean and separated from India by the Gulf of Mannar. The best surf spots are found on the south coast of the teardrop shaped island but each side works better at a different time of the year. The best time to surf on the Southwest coast is from November to the end of April. There you will find perfect mellow waves like Hikkaduwa Reef that are ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers to improve their skills.
