Surfing in Southwest Australia

The Southwest of Australia is one of the main surf attractions in the country. The Margaret River region is considered one of the most consistent and challenging surfing areas in the country and every year hosts one of the stops of the WT. The coast is scattered with rocky ledges and point breaks that have excellent exposure to the Roaring Forties swells. The picturesque Caves Road follows the coastline while vineyards overlooking the sea create a bucolic scene where lots of world class waves can be found in a short radius.

Best surf spots in Southwest Australia

There are countless waves in this area, but the best  and most famous surf spots are Margaret River, The Box, North Point and Yallingup.
