Surfing in South Chile

The South of Chile is one of the most consistent surfing areas in the world. The super active South Pacific ocean allied with the Humboldt Current and a super deep water trench creates an excess of waves on this part of the country that rarely sees flat days. The best surfing area in the south of Chile is probably Pichilemu where an abundant amount of high quality left handers can be easily found. There is a big variety of surf spots and definitely not enough surfers to consider this part of the country crowded.

The best surf spots in this area are Punta de Lobos, Infiernillo, La Puntilla and Las Salinas.
