Surfing in Northwest Wales

The best surf spots in the Northwest of Wales are located in the Lleyn Peninsula. There you can find all kinds of surf breaks with good exposure to southwest swells. The most popular surfing area is around Hells Mouth in Porth Neigwl, a four mile beach on the south coast of the Lleyn Peninsula that faces southwest. There are choices that range from classic reef breaks to sand bottom beach breaks that can be found within short range. This is probably the most consistent surfing area in the country and is considered a swell magnet by the locals. There are waves all year round but the biggest and most consistent swells arrive during autumn and winter.
