Surfing in Northwest Greece
Greece has lots of favorable conditions for surfing but the activity is still not very popular in the country. With a rugged coastline, hundreds of islands and good winds, surfing is less practiced than kitesurfing and windsurfing but slowly is becoming more common to watch surfers catching waves at the Greek beaches. The Northwest part of the country is where most of the good quality surf spots are located. The good exposure to south swells coming from the Ionian Sea and northwest coming from the Adriatic Sea makes this the most consistent place to surf in Greece.
