Surfing in Ericeira

Ericeira is located just north of Lisbon and is the main surfing area in the country. With multiple high quality surf spots in a short stretch of coast there are waves for any surfers ability from gentle peeling waves to super hollow fast barrels. There are waves at all times of the year at Ericeira. The beach breaks to the south of the city work better during summertime and the reefs and point breaks lit up with powerful swells during the winter.

The best surf spots are Coxos, Foz do Lizandro, Pedra Branca, Praia da Baleia, Praia da Samarra, Praia da Vide, Ribeira D’Ilhas, São Julião and Sao Lourenco.
