INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Nomad Surfers Equestrian and language camp in Portugal. Best experience of your life! All levels. Top beach riding in Portugal. Kids from all over the world. Ages 12 to 17.
Our Horse riding summer camp in the Algarve combines optional surfing and english, French, Spanish, or Portuguese language courses.
Nomad Surfers has been organising summer camps for children since 1995, and in the Algarve since 2000. The team consists of qualified coaches, who speak several languages and all the elements are combined to provide kids with professional, pleasurable and efficient training. The Team has dedicated their life to surf and Horse riding and has over 15 years of experience in junior training.
THE ACCOMMODATION
This Equestrian Summer Camp is located on our private property of 10,000 square meters in the Natural park of Alentejo. This friendly and safe summer camp in Southern Portugal can accommodate up to fifty-five teenagers. The camp consists of the main building with a big dining area and an outside area where our guest can relax and play.

Rooms

- Private rooms are optional. To have your private Twin or the triple room you need to book two or three people in the same booking. Limited vacancies.
Food
Professional Chef with more than 20 years experience in the best restaurants in the Algarve. The food is abundant and delicious. If a kid doesn’t like the food for any particular reasons we will make sure to cook him or her something else something of their taste.
Breakfast: Served at the surf camp, a delicious breakfasts buffet with freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit, ham, bacon, cheese, cereal, etc.Vegetables and fruits: Salad, tomatoes and more. It’s amazing!
Lunch: Picnic Lunches are given to each kid to take to the beach. 2 delicious sandwiches, a fruit of the season, chocolate, juice and a bottle of water.
Dinner: Dinners are provided at the nearby restaurant or cooked by our local chef at the Surfcamp.
We are a flexible surf camp and our main objective is that children have a great time and feel at home, or better!

For Parents
We have dedicated many years to the practice and teaching of surfing as qualified instructors. Nomad Surfers created this Summer Camp in Portugal in 2000 with great enthusiasm, specialising in minors.
We know the responsibility that this entails, that is why the boys/girls will be controlled at all the times both in the surf lessons and activities extras we developed for their free time, and also at all times by our monitors, and will be always accompanied by teachers graduates. They will be surfing, doing sports and having fun but with the maximum security for them.
COVID-19 Measures
Due to Covid-19 situation in the world, we are aware of the evolution of COVID-19 and the recommendations of the official health entities, in order to constantly update hygiene and safety procedures in all areas of the surfcamp.
The measures implemented will be strictly followed by the staff, who will receive frequent training, and other measures will be requested from our guests, ensuring that their stay on our beautiful land run as safely as possible, mitigating any risk of infection.
– The common measures, as frequent disinfection, using the masks in the common areas, are taken. The staff is using the masks in the common areas and vehicles, as it recommended by the health entities. We recommend our guests to use the masks and disinfect / wash hand frequently, avoiding close contacts.
– Reception without contact. Payment by transfer is accepted.
– Maintaining distance from the kitchen / bar balcony.
– The quantity of the people that we accepting is limited. The maximum is 32 people for the surf camp (our usual capacity is 56 people).
– The quantity of the people, sharing the same room, is limited. In the dorm of 8 spaces we will accommodate 4 persons (5 persons maximum). In the dorm of 6 spaces we will accommodate 3 persons (4 persons maximum).
– The groups for surf lessons are limited, less people per surf coach.
– The surf equipment stays assigned to a person during the whole stay. We disinfect the surf boards and wetsuits accordingly.
– The Surf camp is isolated in the middle of natural Park, from the other houses of the village Monte Novo (1 km), Aljezur (15 km), Lagos (30 km). We have our bar with snacks and soft drinks, and souvenir shop in the Surf Resort. In case of any needs we are happy to bring the necessary item.
THE ACTIVITIES
Horse Riding
Rides for all levels, from experienced riders wanting to ride on the beach to complete novice ready to try riding for the first time. We have the right horse and adventure for you.
On all rides the group will ride at the pace comfortable for the less experienced rider.
Important: The final day ride will only go as far as the beach if the guides decide all participants are able to handle the horses.

Language Courses
Algarve Horse Riding camp offers optional Spanish, French, Portuguese and English Language courses. The classes are only one hour per day for five days from Monday to Friday in the morning before the surf lessons or in the afternoon so no one will miss out on any surfing. The classes are fun and most of the time they will be taught in the open air (Beach, fields, with the animals at the nearby farms, etc).
Certified and native teacher is Jane Hayward
Certified by Cambridge as an English language teacher (CELTA).

Surf School and Coaching
The Algarve Horse riding camp has its own surf school and is considered one of the best in Portugal and renowned for training junior surfers for many years. The Summer surf camp courses are split into three levels: Beginners, Intermediates, and Advanced.
Other Activities
- Surfboard Shaping Workshop: Once every 10 days there is a workshop where we teach the kids how to shape, sand, and glass surfboards. We do the same process as if they were real surfboards but in miniature surfboards so they can take with them as a souvenir. They have a little hole on it so they can be a key chain, a necklace or just a little sculpture.
- Beach Clean-Up: In between surf sessions, we organize a beach clean up, where the teenagers will have gloves and plastic bags to collect as much garbage as possible at the beach where we practice surfing. Every day the ocean throws thousand of kilos of plastics at many beaches around the world and this scenario is only getting worse. With this activity we try to show the kids how important it is to do our part and spread good practice to more and more people. We can not give up.

LOCATION & GETTING HERE
Location
The Equestrian summer Camp is 30 minutes north of Sagres by car. The center is ideally located between nature and the wild Vale Figueiras Beach or Arrifana Beach where the surf courses take place. (hills, birds, cows and sheep). No houses, bars, or anywhere to walk to, apart from the beach. We have everything we need to keep our guest entertained at the camp.
The Algarve is situated on the most southern part of Portugal, stretching along the Atlantic between the Spanish border and Cabo Sao Vicente, Europe’s south western most point, enjoys a privileged climate all year round, in brightly colored and fertile surroundings covered with orange, fig, and almond groves.
The southern coastline is formed by a long stretch of fabulous beaches, only broken up by impressive reddish cliffs. The west coast is wilder and the sea rougher, with a string of solitary coves and beaches accessed through dirt tracks.

The Algarve Horse Riding Camp starts in the afternoon. Check-in after 5 PM and horse riding classes on the following morning. On check out day, the departures in the mornings, although we can drop off at a later time if necessary.
