Surfing in Tongatapu

Tongatapu is the main island of Tonga located in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean. The island lies at the southern part of the archipelago and has good reef breaks on the W coast that produce some high quality waves. The best time to surf in Tongatapu is from April to October during the south hemisphere winter when SW swells align with the trade winds producing the best surf conditions.
