INTRODUCTION
Surf in Porto whilst enjoying the tranquility of the traditional fishing village of Esmoriz, surrounded by the wild and well-preserved beaches or Maceda Natural Park. With 20 km of long beach stretches right next to our door, our Surf Camp has the right conditions for all levels of surfing!ย Our certified instructors will make sure you have fun while learning in a safe environment.
Our Surcamp is a multicultural place, where people from all over the world can enjoy the Surf, make new friends and exchange experiences in a very chilled out and informal ambience. Our cozy guest house offers shared and double rooms forย groups or those who prefer a little more privacy.ย The Surfhouse has also a fully equipped kitchen and a homelike living room.
Esmoriz, known as the best Surfspot triangle in the North of Portugal, offers you a great Surf with a peaceful and friendly crowd in a place where traditions are still alive. Lots of Party too !! Besides Surfing and Party you can enjoy yoga classes, go for a skate,ย rent a tennis court, try out wake surfing or paddle boarding…or just relax and enjoy a nice massage.
Once you are our guest all you are supposed to do is really enjoy your holiday, no cooking, no dishes, onlyย surfing & relaxing.
THE ACCOMMODATION
The Surfhouse
Surfcampโs Surfhouse is a short 3 minute walk from the beach. It has two shared bedrooms with a capacity of 4 persons in each one, and a private bedroom with a double bed. The Surfhouse has a fully equipped kitchen and a homelike living room with TV, DVD, Internet and Playstation.

The Lodge
If you are looking for more comfort with own bathroom, our Surf Lodge is a perfect option, situated just a few footsteps from the beach. You surf as much as you desire, take yoga classes, participate at film nights, enjoy great dining and wine tasting, bbqโs and sunset drinks together with the other guests.ย

THE ACTIVITIES
Surf school & Surfarisย
The Oporto Surfschool is for all levels; Youngsters, Adults, beginners wanting to learn and intermediate surfers wanting to gain new skills and improve their techniques as a sport, culture and lifestyle.
All the Surfschools instructors are fully liscenced by the Portuguese Surfing Federation and all have an extensive knowledge and experience on educational and competition level Surfing.
With over 20 years of experience the Oporto Surfcamps Surf Instructors will advise and teach each student according to their Surfing level (beginner – advanced).
SURF SPOTS:
With a 15km coastline, Porto offers you more than 20 beach breaks with consistent swell all year long with waves for all Surf levels. The most famous and consistent spot is Espinho, known for its long and barreling right-hander.
For intermediate Surfers the best spot is Cagalhotos, a long and easy right perfect for developing surf maneuvers. Infront of the Surfcamp there is a speedy and fun left-hander, and to the south of the Surfcamp you can find multiple peaks from the beaches of the Natural Park of Maceda, where the Surf combines with the pure touch of nature. The north is full of beach breaks suited for beginners, with many uncrowded spots, so you can really focus on the Surf.
A DAY AT THE CAMP
Our breakfast starts around 9:00h.
At 10:00h we are ready to choose the best surf spot for the day, taking the conditions into account. Then we surf.
After a little break, if you want and have energy, we go surf again.
ย In the evening we do several things, having a bbq or going out for dinner, sometimes guests decide to cook a specialty of their country for everyone. Sometimes we watch movies or play games together.
And of course a drink and a dance at one of the bars once in a while.
Other Activities
There are other activities in the area that you can enjoy, such as a great Skatepark in the middle of the forest just a 10 minute walk from the camp. You can also do Yoga lessons, rent a tennis court, try wake surfing or SUP or just relax and enjoy a massage, not forgetting cultural visits.ย
LOCATION & GETTING HERE
LOCATION
Oporto Surfcamp is situated 30km South of Porto, taking a 35 minute train ride from Esmoriz to get to its historical centre.
The City of Porto is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the famous Douro River, creating the ideal place to chill out by the beach, or party in the historical parts of town by the riverside where you can enjoy the city social life and the breathtaking views.
You will be also near Aveiro which is situated 40 km south of the Surf camp; to get there you can take a train (40 minutes). This area has unique geographical characteristics with both the sea and the land connected in a strange way and that create Inner City Rivers.
The Portuguese call it โVenetiaโ recognize as a Romantic place to be. Aveiro is a popular for the universities which give a young and animated atmosphere with daily parties and concert.
Santa Maria da feira which host the well knows โMedieval festโ is situated at only 8 km of the camp, you can be there in 10 minutes by car to reach the city center. During this โMedieval festโ you will be taken 400 years ago in a historical city, with a large number of visitors during the day and animated and well decorated parties at night.
Getting Here
Esmoriz: Seaside resort 30 km. south of Oporto
By Plane:ย Aero Porto Sรก Carneiro (35 km from the Surfcamp). Ryan Air, Easy Jet, Air Berlin, Lufthansa, Tap Air, Brussels Airlines, Tuifly and Air France.
By Metro: The Airport has a metro Station from where you can catch a train to Porto Campanha. From there you can catch a train to Esmoriz.
By Train: You can catch a train from Sao Bento train station (Oporto) to Esmoriz, or from Campanha (Porto) to Esmoriz.ย
