INTRODUCTION
Eco Hotel in Ofir offers surfers and kitesurfers access to one of the best Kite/Surf beaches in Portugal and Europe, our center is located strategically on the beach allowing easy access. We provide watersport lessons in kitesurfing, surfing and stand up paddle for all levels as well as equipment rental. Our philosophy is to promote both water and land sports and to experiment quiet life in a natural place combining the relaxation with staying active.
We are located on the Esposende peninsula, in a key location facing both the river and the ocean. We’re only 30 minutes from the Porto Airport, we take pride in respecting the environment which is the reason why our restaurants main focus is of creating and developing synergies between local suppliers with a twist of modern and classic techniques.
All our hotel is designed to blend in perfectly with the Portugal Atlantic culture, sun and atmosphere. Simply and elegantly furnished rooms have sea or garden views, offering stunning scenery. All pieces of decoration and furniture are selected in harmony with the surrounding nature.
The waves in the area are consistent throughout the year. But besides surfing and kitesurfing there are many other activities you can enjoy also on the land – horseback riding, mountain biking, canyoning and climbing. We are also surrounded by natural parks, kilometres of coastline with amazing landscapes and local villages worth exploring. In less than an hour you arrive to Porto, Braga or the Douro Valley that offer plenty of places to visit and monuments to be seen.

THE ACTIVITIES
In our Sports Center we offer surfing, kitesurfing and stand up paddle lessons as well as equipment rental. In Ofir, Esponende we have 16 km of coastline of Northern Littoral Natural Park. It has quite reliable surf and is consistent throughout the year. Beach is good for both beginners and intermediate levels, has sandy bottoms allows a safe learning at any time of the tide.
The kitesurf spots are located ten minutes walk from the hotel, on one side we have a spot with flat and shallow water – perfect for beginners. On the other side an ocean spot, without anyone around. The best consistent winds blow from March to October.
KITESURF COURSE
We offer lessons and rentals of kitesurf gear. Lessons from beginner to intermediate, and children starting 35kg can also learn this exciting sport. You can choose the lesson that suits you most – hourly lessons or a package of 6-hours, private lessons or with a friend. All the equipment is provided.
SPECIAL PACKAGE – recommended for beginners who want to become independent kitesurfers. In 6 hours you will learn to understand the spot and the wind, control the kite, body drag and self rescue, water start and riding both directions.
DISCOVER KITESURFING – In 2 hours you will learn to assess a spot, to set up the kite and basic kite flying theory and the safety systems. Fly a training kite, relaunch the kite and perform a self rescue and some body-dragging in the water!
KITEBOARDING REFRESH COURSE – in 2 hours we will get you confident riding on your own. Refresher on kite safety, self rescue, improve your riding skills.
KITEBOARDING ADVANCED- FOILING LESSON –1 hour
This is for experienced kitesurfers who want to learn new freestyle tricks or go unhooked, ride a directional or a surfboard. And keep on improving!
SURF RENTAL AND LESSONS
Esposende is one of the best destinations for surfing in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. You can rent surf equipment or take a lesson with one of our ASI qualified instructors. They will ensure you learn fast, safe and with maximum pleasure. Lessons are offered for everyone – beginners to advanced, children and grandparents.
SURF AND KITESURF CAMP
In our Camps we offer Kitesurf camp, Surf camp and multi sports camp. The purpose of the camp is to relax, be active and re connect with Nature! You can choose between sports, lessons or rental.

Location
Our Resort is located in the North Coast Natural Park with its beautiful natural environment, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Cávado River. The Beach is only 150 m away from our resort. And within 2 km you will find supermarkets, market and some cafes.
Less than an hour drive to vistit Porto, Braga and Douro Valley.
