INTRODUCTION
Kabalana Beach Surf Hostel in Sri Lanka you’ll find it to be a place of life abundant with rich culture, the rainforest, the desert, and of course, it’s mellow waves. Beginners to advanced surf spots in Sri Lanka. You’ll find a connection to the people, the earth and the ocean.
We use recycled or new materials from the island to create an inviting environment that follows a sustainable mindset. The staff sand the artisans are all local or international travelers that follow the friendly neighbor mentality. We have people from 16 to 60 years old, this is a space we celebrate who we are, no need to pretend.
We can host up to 38 – 40 people groups. Solo or group travelers are welcome, we also host retreat activities or group travelers. If you are a group you will get a special rate. We are open all year around. Between May-September, you can get up to 50% discount!

THE ACCOMMODATION

This is the place where you meet your best friend or a new travel company or your next girlfriend/boyfriend. You won’t be able to differ who is staff and who are guests because everyone is a part of the family. We enjoy every day together where the surf is our neighbor, adventures are endless and new friends become family.

All rooms come with AC, private entrance, jungle/garden view, hot water, very good pressure shower, international plugs, and towels. Some of the rooms have a private balcony area.

Meals
We have an amazing restaurant with the best coffee and international dish options with vegan and vegetarian options. Also, we have a communal kitchen for those who fancy cooking themselves. From toaster to oven and blender we have everything you need in the communal kitchen. We offer laundry for our guests.
THE ACTIVITIES
Surf
We are right at the beach where there is great surf for all levels.
Surf Lessons:
We are working with one of the best surf instructors in the island. From Level 1-3 they will teach you how to take off, turn, and how to read the waves.
Each lesson includes:
- 1.5 hour surf lesson
- Board hire and the transportation if needed
- Personal instructor
- Surf theory
Surf Safari

Surf Safari for intermediate and surfer fellows includes:
- 1.5-2 hours surf session
- Spot introduction (dangers, rips, currents, paddle out/in)
- Board hire and the tuk tuk ride if needed

LOCATION & GETTING HERE
LOCATION
We are right at Kabalana beach where the surf is available for all levels and boards. We have variety of cool restaurants&bars nearby walking distance. The closest town is 15-20 min walk and 5 minutes tuktuk ride where you can find ATM, pharmacy, groceries, supermarkets etc..
The bus stop is right in front of us which can take you any part of the island very fast and cheap. If you look for comfort there are tuktuks waiting for your service.
Getting Here
We arrange you airport transfer for extra price. It takes around 2 and a half hour trip.
If you want cheaper options you can always take buses or trains which would take around 4 hours: First you need to take a shuttle from airport to the Colombo station. Then you can take a bus or train to the closest town which is Ahangama and finally you take tuktuk to Kabalana Beach Surf Hostel.
