Whether you’re a complete beginner, an intermediate improving your technique, or a lifelong surfer chasing your next best session, the island delivers—and the on-site team knows exactly when and where to go.
With 20 years on Rote and 40 years of surf experience, they read the variables that matter (tide, wind, and swell direction) and guide you toward the right spot at the right moment, so you spend more time scoring and less time guessing. To keep the experience smooth from start to finish, the resort also supports you with surf transfers and practical help getting in and out of the island—so logistics don’t get in the way of your time in the water.
Accommodation is “affordable luxury” with personalised service, balancing a private ambience with family-style, community vibes that make it feel like a home away from home. Villas are set up in a mini home-style format that can suit self-catering, ideal if you like your own space and flexibility between sessions. When you’re not surfing, you can slow down with wellness facilities like a yoga shala and a large pool, or join sailing boat trips for a different view of the coastline. LOCATION & GETTING HERE
LOCATION
Rote Island is the most southern island of the Nusa Tenggara island chain in Indonesia. It lies a few miles south of West Timor.
Our resort is located in the scenic palm grove of Nemberala beach, 100 metres from the ocean.
Getting Here
Arrival Rote Island
For international flights, you will need to travel to Ngurah Rai international Airport in Bali (Denpasar) or Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta.
There are a few daily flights from Bali and Jakarta to Kupang. Most are morning flights operated by Lion Air.
Once in Kupang, according to if you are a chill traveler, and you are ready to spare an overnight there; or if you are froffin to get here on the same day; the main alternatives are fast Ferry, slow ferry, flight.
There is a 40min ride from airport to ferry terminal. Taxis are available at the airport.
There is a 1 to 2 hours ride from Rote ferry terminal to Keong.
