Our boat will take you to explore waves off the beaten track. Banyak and Hinako are the two of our surf destinations, they provide our guests with countless surf spots with no one around, perfect for those who like to go deep in the barrels. They are a part of a chain of islands off the western coast of Sumatra in Indonesia near Mentawai Islands.
Remote tropical islands, beaches covered with palm trees, crystal clear water, and hundreds of surf breaks pumping world-class waves. The surfing season is considered from March to November, which is the dry season in Indonesia, however there are waves in this area all year round.

Surfing is the most activity during our trips, but not the only one! The area has incredibly beautiful white sand beaches and marine life. So if not surfing you can go snorkelling, paddle boarding or just exploring the islands around. And of course fishing will guarantee you some nice catches and tasty fresh dinners.

THE ACTIVITIES
SURFING
The best about having a camp on a boat is that the trip has no fixed itinerary! We always have the latest forecast in hands and will plan the route according to the weather and swell conditions. This way you will be able to surf the best waves around in their best conditions.
The main Routes of this Charter will be around Banyak and Hinako Islands with many spots that are only accessible by boat. This chain of islands has equally amazing surf as it´s famous neighbour Mentawai, at the same time the crowd factor is way smaller. The boat will sail from North to South and stop at the best surf spots as well as the secret spots.
The surfing season in in this area is considered from March to November, which is the dry season in Indonesia. Thats when you get higher chances of long powerful swells. However there are wavesall year round also during the “off-season”.
Surf guides
Our local guides with their knowledge will always find the best waves for you. They will introduce you to the rules and safety on board and in the water (there are a few rules to follow). Sometimes they will be in the water with the guests and it´s a perfect opportunity for you to learn where is the best positioning on the lineup to get the best waves.
Surf equipment
The majority of the waves break over sharp reef and in lower tides therefore it might be useful to bring on your surf boots and a surf helmet. The water temperature through out the year is about 26C but the sun is very strong, so bring your UV shirt and lots of waterproof sunscreen like Zinc.
We do not rent surfing equipment, so bring everything you might need: wax, extra fins and leashes.
YOUNG SURFERS
We offer a unique surf camp for young generation of surfers of all levels.
The trip has a fun approach, no pressure on the kids. The coach will watch individually each kids performance and do video analyses during dinner. Parents are welcome to join the trip!

Getting Here
- The clients must fly in Medan International Airport (KNO) one day before the boat departure date.
- We reccomend the one night stay at the HORISON SKY KUALANAMU inside the airport so next day clients can directly fly to Gunung Sitoli (GNS).
- We recommend booking in advance with Garuda Airlines the first flight in the morning to Gunung Sitoli.
Our staff will be at the airport arrival gate to welcome the guests and proceed with transfer to the boat.
