Surfing in Mexico Pacific Coast

The Pacific Coast of Mexico is one of the most famous surf destinations in the world. There are hundreds of surf spots scattered along the coast but the highlights are definitely the famous waves of Puerto Escondido and the Salina Cruz. This area has been explored since the 40s when American surfers made their way down finding some amazing setups. The best time of the year to surf in this area is during the winter months when the North Pacific Ocean produces solid NW, but due to the strategic geographical position the Pacific coast of Mexico also receives swells form the South Pacific making it a year round surf destination.

The best surf spots are Stonner’s Point, Playa Zicatela, Puerto Escondido, Barra De La Cruz, Acapulco and Salinas Cruz.
