INTRODUCTION
Biarritz is known as one of Europe’s most popular surf destinations with quality conditions and a vibrant lifestyle all year long. Our language school is ideally located in a quiet side street, only a 10 minute walk from the town centre and its beaches.
With over 18 years of experience, we teach the French language and surfing to guests from around the world and of all age groups. Our goal is to help learners achieve a good command of the language in all aspects of communication skills.
We enrich their knowledge, based on fun and practical activities ; allowing them to develop both their speaking and writing skills. The teaching staff meets twice a week to monitor and personalize each student’s progress throughout their stay.
• Total immersion : Even during the breaks, our teachers will encourage you to speak French !
• Our small classes : 13 students maximum (8 average) with a dedicated and experienced team.
• The programs are planned according to the learning abilities of each individual with a lot of multimedia equipment: audio, video, internet.
• The lessons are supplemented with teaching manuals and authentic documents.
Our French mother tongue teachers are FLE university graduates (diploma of French teaching as a Foreign Language) and have significant teaching experience in France and abroad. Some of them have additional training in other sectors (foreign languages, communication, etc…).
Enthusiastic and attentive, they endeavor to make your stay as pleasant and rewarding as possible, improving accuracy and fluency through role play, simulations and discussions.
Based on the CECRL, lessons are designed to develop all language skills :

Surfing has been part of the everyday life in Biarritz for more than 50 years. It became part of its ambience, its culture and its economy. We offer you the best way to combine learning/improving your French language skills with getting a solid start into your surfing life.
Surf schools, surf shops, surf competitions and the recent festivals : “nuit de la glisse”, … there are so many ways provided to honour the ocean. Our surf school partner in Biarritz will provide you with the surf equipment and teach you the basics of surfing.
If you already passed the beginner level and feel more like you need some advice on how to improve your technique, then our qualified surf instructors will adjust to your current surfing level and take it from there.
THE ACCOMMODATION
Our language school is combining the mornings in the class room with a great choice of fun activities in the afternoon.
We don’t personally offer any accommodation to our students, but we are happy to organise any of the following accommodation types for your stay with us here in Biarritz.
Just let us know which type suits you best and you’ll receive a quote for your desired dates from us.
Accommodation in our host-families homes
- All host families are well known to us and enjoy our fullest trust for many of years
- There will be between 1 and 3 students staying with one host family
- Participate in your host-family’s daily life
- Save costs with this most economic accommodation type
Rules
The family should be notified of any changes regarding meals or overnight absences.
The accommodation contract is personal, this means you cannot invite anyone to stay overnight. You must seek agreement from your host family if you want to invite someone during the day.
A set of keys will be given to you on arrival. Any loss or breakage will be at your expenses.
Transfer
Upon your arrival a member of the host family will pick you up. Therefore, please inform us of your arrival time and place (e.g. airport, train station, etc …), before 12 pm on the friday, prior to your arrival. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee the transfer by your host family on the day of your arrival.
Additional transfer fees will be at the student’s expense.
If you get to Biarritz by car we will put you in direct contact with the host family.
Cancellation
Administration fee is 95€, whatever the duration of your stay is. This fee covers all administrative procedure related to the booking of your accommodation. The fee is not refundable.
For cancellations received 7 days prior arrival, the accommodation will be refunded except for the administration fee.
For any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to arrival, you will be charged four days plus the administration fee.
If you leave your accommodation before the end of your stay, you will not be refunded.
Extending your homestay accommodation cannot be arranged directly with the family. It must be done through the school.
For any change of accommodation during your stay, you will be charged an 80€ administration fee.
Insurance
You must have a minimum risk insurance cover when staying with a host family.

THE ACTIVITIES
FRENCH LESSONS
It is structured over an intensive week of 20 lessons of 45 minutes each.
The warm atmosphere and small class sizes, with a maximum number of 13 students, promote personalised and interactive learning . Following the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), our course emphasises the balanced development of oral and written comprehension and expression skills.
Each lesson offers an opportunity to explore the linguistic, grammatical and cultural knowledge necessary for effective communication . The educational approach is based on carrying out concrete tasks , adapted to specific communication objectives. Thus, throughout the week, students will acquire and practise the language skills essential to interact in various contexts.
Prepare yourself for an enriching experience where French becomes a living and functional tool to achieve concrete objectives.
SURF LESSONS
In partnership with Surf Schools on the Côte des Basques, we offer Surf lessons in the afternoons. Sessions supervised by state-certified surf instructors who offer you a program adapted to your level.
For almost 50 years , this board sport has been part of the daily life of Biarritz , its image, its culture and its economy.
Surf schools, surf shops, sports competitions, surf nights, etc. so many activities in homage to the ocean.
A city open to the Atlantic Ocean, built at the foot of the Pyrenees, Biarritz receives swells from the sea varying from 50 cm, for the calmest periods, to 5/6 meters on stormy days. Thus, during your stay, you will be able to evolve and progress in average waves of 50 cm or higher and water at 23° in summer.

We are ideally located in a quiet side street, only a 10 minute walk from the town centre and its beaches.

Biarritz is located 760 km south-west of Paris – 180 km south of Bordeaux – 28 km north of the Spanish border.

→ By plane : Biarritz-Parme international airport has daily flights connecting with Paris, London, Lyon, and Geneva.
