INTRODUCTION
Somo is the capital of Cantabria, a popular seaside resort with a miles-long sandy beach ideally situated on a small sandy peninsula closing the bay of Santander, right across the town. With a big tradition in canoeing and a growing culture of surf, you will be able to experience a slice of the best surf in Spain! Its renowned long sandy beach enjoys more than 200 days of surfing per year. The beach breaks works with all tides and the best swell size is small to medium ones ( better when rising! ).
Somo Beach is super consistent so surfing here won’t be a problem at all! Do not be afraid to experiment the surf in the north of Spain during the winter! Our camp is open all-year long. Our certified, experienced and professional surf instructors, have training in first aids and rescue, so you can have absolute fun with total security.
We offer classes for all levels of surfing and all ages and organise camps for kids, adults or girls only!
Our guests can choose from a wide range of accommodations. You can choose to stay in a Camping, Surf House, Rural houses (posadas) we provide it all. Just a few steps away from your accommodation you will find surf shops, bars, and restaurants. Once you arrived at the surf camp in Somo you won’t have to stress about anything!
There is a big free parking area just a few steps from the beach where a renovated skate park is adjacent too. In a few minutes, you can check the waves, paddle to the various peaks that break along the beach. After your surf, you can enjoy a skate or longboard session and to finish the day you can have a couple of beers and tapas at the best local pubs!

The surf capital of Cantabria is here. Just few minutes from the Santander, in the small village of Somo, our surf camp has different options to suit all tastes and budgets.
All surf camp packages includes accommodation in tents but we also offer private cabins and shared rooms at a hostel.
SURF CABINS
In the Surf Cabins you will be staying in the heart of the town of Somo, next to the bars, restaurants, shops and with Santander just a step away, but at the same time in an area quiet, ideal for an unforgettable surfing holiday. You will be staying just 100 meters from Somo beach and the school, so it is recommended for all lovers of surfing and the beach.

THE ACTIVITIES
Surf School
Our Surf School is one of the most prestigious in Spain. Founded back in 199, the school is locate at Somo Beach, a 4 miles long sandy beach across the bay from Santander. The spot offers excellent condition for the practice and learning of surfing since it is a beach break. The Surf School offers a range of surf camps with or without accommodation. The Surf school include classes and material.
Our Surf camps include the surf school, half board and camping accommodation or surf school, full board and guesthouse accommodation. The school also runs a fully equipped surf shop and a wide range of materials are available for sale and rental. All instructors are trained in first aid and have a lifeguard and a Spanish Surf Federation diploma.
We will adapt to your level, if you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced. Our goal is to help you to progress while having fun and to have a better understanding of the sea.
Students are welcome from 6 years and the little ones can take advantage of our small classes in a funny and family atmosphere.

Surf Spots
Somo itself is a well known surf spot with excellent beach breaks ideal for beginners. Somo is also ideally located to discover the nearby breaks of Langre and Galizano, a few kilometres east of the seaside resort. Santander is centrally located to discover the splendid, although underrated surf spots of Cantabria. West of Santander are the spots of Liencres, Suances, Oyambre and Meron. East of the city are the spots of Laredo, Santona and El Brusco, the last one is Cantabria’s most famous break. Most of these breaks are beach breaks and enjoy excellent swell conditions year round thanks to the deep northern Atlantic depressions travelling down the Bay of Biscay.

Somo is a popular seaside town with miles of long sandy beaches situated on a small peninsula closing the Bay of Santander. Easy to reach by boat, bus or shuttle bus directly from the downtown of the city, won’t take you longer than 30 minutes to get there by car.
Widely recognized as the surf capital of Cantabria, Somo Beach offers a beautiful view of Santander with a landscape of lagoons and Santa Magdalena Peninsula on the east. This tiny, green and authentic village, thanks to its position, repaired from the bay and with access to the open ocean far at the end of Loredo, offers perfect conditions for surfing also with adverse weather conditions.
Our Accommodation options are located just a few walking minutes away from the beach and the surf school. Just a few steps away from your accommodation you will also find surf shops, bars, and restaurants.
Getting Here
The Surf camp and all the other facilities available are situated in Somo, 15 minutes far from Santander, the capital of Cantabria. Easy to reach by car through the north spanish motorway, Santander is only one hour and a half from Bilbao. The cheap and easy way to get there from the airport is the public bus ( Line 20) that runs every 30 minutes…

- From Madrid: Follow Madrid-Burgos 635 National Burgos-Santander, after catch the Cantabrian motorway towards Bilbao. Exit n.11 Heras-Pedreña then follow road sign till Somo!
- From Gijon: Cantabrian motorway towards Bilbao, follow direction Santander Bilbao last exit Heras-Pedreña, then direction Somo.

- From Santander… Line 20 runs every 30 minutes.

In addition, in the INTENSIVE you will have availability of FREE material the rest of the day to be able to continue practicing for free.
