INTRODUCTION
You are going to be host in a typical Canarian Villa, really close to all the main interest points and just 10 minutes walking from the beach. At Playa de Fanabe Surf Hostel Tenerife, you will have the possibility to rent a bike for exploring the area. Costa Adeje is one the most famous touristic zone of the south of Tenerife and offers different options for who wants to enjoy the island, from common touristic beaches to less crowded natural paradise hidden in the rural nature, like Playa Diégo Hernandéz, also called Hippie Beach, reachable after a 15 minutes walk around a hill.
In the Hostel, you will find an international friendly group of a volunteer living on site and a couple of long-term workers, always ready to solve any kind of situation and to give you the best bits of advice. Antonio, the surf instructor, will come to the Hostel to pick you up with his surf van and take you to the beach or to the harbor of Las Galletas, in order to sail with the boat and go snorkeling with turtles and watching the whales in the wild.
We offer weekly packages including:
- 7 nights accommodation
- 5 surf lessons – 10 hours surfcourse for beginners & intermediate (more lessons can be booked with discount)
- Surf equipment, certified surf instructor, insurances
- Transfer from the hostel to the beach and back;
- Yoga lesson a week (with the possibility of booking more on site);

THE ACCOMMODATION
Playa de Fanabe Surf Hostel Tenerife
The house has a communal kitchen with a separate dining area and a bright, spacious lounge with tv at your disposal.
Our kitchen is equipped with:
- Electric oven
- Microwave;
- Fridge and Freezer for common use;
- Kettle;
- Toaster;
- Small and large pots, frying pans and other cooking facilities;
- Plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, etc.
Our peaceful outdoor space has:
- Garden with sun loungers
- Small pool
- Lovely covered terrace
- Bbq area which hosts our famous Wednesday barbecue nights.
Rooms
- Shared rooms (maximum 4 persons)
The rooms have plenty of electrical sockets and space for storing your things, including one large locker for each guest (if you don’t have a padlock, we will give it to you for free!).
Bed linen is included in the price. A low cost, but still comfortable solution.
- Private double room (double bed or twin beds)
If you prefer your privacy, or if you’re not used to hostels, you can request a private room with or without bathroom. The rooms are tastefully decorated and bed linen, towels and soap are provided. The bathroom has a shower or bath with a shower curtain and a bidet.

- We care a lot about the cleanliness of our place and, for clients staying more than 4 days, we provide a midweek room cleaning service and bed linen change.
THE ACTIVITIES
Surf Lessons
Every surf package includes 5 surf lessons, 1 each day, with the possibility to book more on site.
Every surflessons lasts 2 hours and includes:
- Warming up;
- Surf technique lesson on board at the beach;
- A lot of surf in the water with custom training. Depending on your level, we get in the water:
– wearing fins → we stabilise your board and make your standing up easier
– with a board → we follow your waves from the very first moment until the very last!
- Post-surf stretching session;
- Lesson debriefing with some last advice to keep on improving;
High-quality teaching
We are the only school in the south of Tenerife where the surf instructors don’t get in the water with a board untill our students can catch waves on their own. For the first times, all the instructors will be always behind the boards, holding the back, in order to stabilize it and taking control of it if necessary.
The lessons can be given in English, Spanish and Italian. We are specialized on small groups – never more than 5 students. In case of more than 5 students attending the lesson, another surf instructor will be called.
Time & transfer
We’re gonna fix weekly the time for the surfing depending on the forecasts and on the tide level. We leave from the Hostel with surf van, boards on top and all the equipment in back, heading to Las Americas, where most of the spots for surfing are. Depending on the waves conditions and on how crowded the spots are, we’re going to choose the one that fits best to your level.

- Free use of Stand Up Paddle

LOCATION & GETTING HERE
Location
It is located in a really calm zone in Costa Adeje, a prime location not far from Playa El Duque – which boasts some of the best sunsets of the whole island – and close to the pretty village of La Caleta and Playa de Los Hippies. The Hostel is also close to bars, restaurants, supermarkets and clubs.
Getting Here
By Car (Approximately 20mins.)
Take the highway (Autopista) in the direction of “Los Cristianos-Las Americas”. Pass Los Cristianos and take the exit 76 “Torviscas/Playa Fañabé”. Be careful not to turn right in the direction of Torviscas instead continue straight towards Playa Fañabé. After 200 meters, turn left at the sign “Plaza del Duque” and pass through a tunnel. There will be a garden centre in front of you. Turn left here (only option) and then immediately right. Continue for 50 meters, then take the first turn right onto Avenida Jardines del Duque. Drive through the first junction at Aqua Mall Commercial Centre. After booking, you will get the address and GPS coordination.
By Bus (60-90 minutes)
Take bus n.111 (frequency: every 30 minutes) to Las Americas bus station (60-90 minutes journey). From here, take bus no. 467 (runs every 15 minutes) to Playa Fañabé. Ask the driver to let you off at Centro Comercial El Duque (and the Saturday market). The hostel is a 5-minute walk away from the bus-stop.
By Taxi (Approximately 20mins.)
Average journey takes about 20mins. Average taxi rate from the airport: between 25 and 30 euro. Extra charge of 3€ for night trips.
