Location

Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama are worth visiting year round.

There are literally thousands of beaches, hundreds of national parks, dozens of volcanoes and millions of acres of forests to explore in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama.

Upon your arrival you will also get your own booklet/guide of each of these countries, places worth visiting, activities and adventures you cant miss out on and ideal camping spots.

Changes in weather worth noting: May to November is rainy season – this means in some parts it will rain every afternoon, yet some northern parts of C.R. and Nicaragua are not as predictable.

It is the best time to visit to experience the true rain forest (lush green) experience and for the best water rafting experiences (full rivers) and also for great swells as some of the best waves are during this season.

Another advantage of the rainy season is lower prices as it is tourist low season.

Our tents and hammocks are 100% waterproof so, why not camp in the rain forest?

Getting Here

Coming internationally the best airports to fly into in Costa Rica are Liberia International Airport (LIB) (right near the beaches in the northern Guanacaste area) or the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San Jose.

We offer free pick-up’s and drop off’s in both these areas.

For Nicaragua use the Augusto C. Sandino airport in Managua (MGA). Pick up/drop off fee’s apply. Only valid pick up if crossing into Costa Rica of Panama.

For Panama use the Tocumen International Airport (PTY). Pick up fee’s apply but no one way fee’s for alternate drop off’s.

Also pick-ups at any hotel you are staying at.

WHAT TO BRING

We recommend only bringing clothes mostly for warm/average weather (20-30ºC / 68-86ºF) and one good sweater for when you are up in the mountains.

Raincoats for rainy season if you have your own, we can provide the basic yellow ones on your arrival.

Hiking shoes are a good idea for walking and hiking/rainforests during rainy season, if your only coming for beaches and surfing… flip flops and sneakers will do.

What a Trip!

"Anyone considering an adventure in Costa Rica definitely needs to look into Nomad Surfers. If you want to truly experience all the beauty this country has to offer there is no better way than renting a vehicle from Fabio and NA. In May I traveled solo to Costa Rica and wanted to see as much as possible in a week. Fabio met me at my hotel in San Jose with a Nissan Xterra completely outfitted with roof tent, hammocks, cooking supplies, ice chest, boogie board, snorkel gear, spear gun, flashlights, local cell phone with unlimited data, and everything I could have possibly needed to make the adventure safe and fun. The vehicle ran great and being diesel, got really good gas mileage as well.

I drove from San Jose to Monteverde cloud forest, Arenal volcano and Fortuna and then across Guanacaste to some of the best beaches I've ever seen from Samara to Montezuma. I then ferried over to Manuel Antonio for a couple days before heading back to the airport. The vehicle came equipped with 4x4 which was a must on some of the roads I traveled. I got turned around on some unmarked roads near Monteverde and called Fabio, who put me right back on track. He also helped plan a loose route before and during my trip.

I did not stay in the same place longer than a day or two and was able to see much more of the country than I would have staying at a resort or hotel. I did not camp the whole time and opted to stay in a couple of affordable Airbnb rentals, but knowing that I always had the option to stop and camp provided the ultimate freedom.

Freedom is how I would sum up the experience of renting through Nomad Surfers. You can literally go anywhere you want and you have everything you need for a completely worry free adventure/vacation. Fabio was absolutely the best to do business with, he was easy to work with and delivered on everything he said he would. I would recommend anyone looking for an awesome adventure and the freedom to move around Costa Rica please check out Nomad Surfers first!"

"Fabio, what else can I say but thank you for making our trip a memory of a lifetime! I've been in the hospitality business for almost 30 years, and travel on average 2 months a year for both work and play, so to say I've seen good and bad in the industry would be understated.

So when planning my son's graduation trip, and in a Country I'd yet to visit, I was nervous but cautiously optimistic. He's an adventurous soul, a car kid and fearless when it comes to new experiences. From the first time we contacted Nomad Surfers, I could tell you ran this business at a higher level. Not only did you provide us the great truck, you literally provided the roadmap and gear based upon our interests. Places we'd have not found on our own, or through a tour book. Who knew Costa Rica had so many skate and mountain bike parks????

It was with your guidance and the truck, that I guarantee Braiden and Michael will never forget this experience. That's what I had hoped would be the outcome as the boys take the next steps in life!
