THE ACTIVITIES

Surfing is the priority

If you’re an experienced surfer,  you’ll love the peak season swell and the quality, consistent waves; if you’re more intermediate (shortboard or longboard), you’ll still score loads of fun, workable right- and left-handers that just keep peeling.

From the well-known breaks in the Malé Atolls to the quieter gems down south, there’s something for every level and every vibe. And because we run our own surf charters in the Maldives, we’re with you the whole way—helping you plan, meeting you at the airport, and getting you to the waves you came for. Your perfect wave starts here.

A great surf charter starts with an excellent surf guide. On board, you’ll be looked after by a full-time guide who’s professionally trained—ISA-certified as a surf instructor and SGA-trained in safety, rescue, first aid, and hospitality—with years of experience guiding charters in the Maldives. Backed by solid local knowledge and support from the operator’s regional team, they know exactly when and where the waves are firing, and they’ll put you in the right place for an unforgettable Maldivian surf trip.

Other Activities

  • Fishing
  • Snorkeling
    • Use of basic snorkelling & fishing gear. (Equipment is basic hand lines and mask/snorkel & fins. If you want quality gear, please feel free to bring your own with you).
    • Maldivian Specialty Beach BBQ (Central & Southern Atolls only when weather and surf permits).

LOCATION & GETTING HERE

LOCATION

Northern Atolls

The Northern Atolls deliver the classic Maldives postcard vibe—palm-fringed islands, turquoise lagoons, and vibrant reefs—with an extra wow factor in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It’s still largely unexplored for surfing, with a mix of quality lefts and rights and lots of potential for discovery. From Baa, you can also reach nearby atolls like Lhaviyani, Noonu, and Raa within a day by boat, making it ideal for surfers chasing uncrowded, lesser-known spots.

Malé Atolls

The Malé Atolls are the easiest, most versatile choice—perfect for a surf trip with friends or a family holiday. You’ll find everything from resort waves to action-packed charters, with long, fun peeling rights and lefts for intermediates and quality swell for experienced surfers in peak season. North Malé is home to classics like Chickens, Cokes, and Lohis, while South Malé delivers world-class waves like Kandooma Right and Foxeys.

Central Atolls

The Central Atolls are a great step away from the busier Malé zone—more travel to get there, but more breathing room once you arrive. Expect consistent reef breaks and the chance of clean, pristine barrels, with a solid mix of spots across Meemu, Thaa, Dhaalu, and Laamu. A major highlight is Ying Yangs, a world-class right-hander, and the region works brilliantly by charter or resort-based surf.

Southern Atolls

The Southern Atolls are best explored by boat, with plenty of breaks packed into a relatively small area. Beacons is the standout—powerful, fast, and “Indo-style” when it’s on—while waves like Five Islands, Blue Bowls, and Love Charms offer more user-friendly options. Add in a few lesser-known setups and you’ve got a proper surf frontier for surfers who want adventure and next-level sessions.
