Cape Verde Kitesurfing Adventure - Santa Maria, SAL. Cape Verde

Our main camp is located in the Island of Sal and we will spend a lot of time at the beach in Santa Maria and at the Kite Beach spot, sometimes we will go to other kite spots too. This camp is organised in collaboration with the pro rider Ines Correia. During these 7 days you will be kitesurfing every day, guided by our instructor team and kite gurus. This camp is perfect for both the ones that would like to improve their skills and the ones learning from zero.

The Kite Spots

The main beach of Santa Maria is where our school is located, it offers great conditions for kiting The fact that the school it located at the beach, helps us to save traveling time and get the maximum from the lesson. We always have a boat in case we start drifting, so you don´t have to worry about your safety, we got this.

Other beaches we kite are Kite Beach is a long beach with plenty of space, no shallow reef, very safe and secure, all that makes it perfect for learning kitesurfing in the waves. Another spot Sierra Negra is a great spot for intermediate riders that want to progress, Ponta Preta is only for intermediate and expert. 

We offer lessons for any age and level. From complete beginners to advanced riders.

You can choose between private or group lessons. Our instructors can speak English, Portuguese, Italian, German and French, they are experienced and qualified to provide you with a safe and professional environment. All lessons comply with IKO standard and you will receive an IKO Card with your kitesurfing level. 

• 3 day courses offer you 10 hours of kite surfing
• 1 day intermediate lesson is 2 hr long

3 Day Course Plan:

Day 0 – The day before we meet and discuss wind condition and decide the plan for next day. Normally we will meet at our kite school and go by car to the kite area in the morning/afternoon, depending on the wind forecast. We provide all the equipment needed, just come and enjoy your kitesurfing day.

Day 1- We start with the wind theory and get you familiar with all the equipment as well as learn and practice the safety measures and systems. You will learn how to read hazards and wind conditions of the day. You will prepare the kite surf gear and learn to fly the kite independently. You will learn to relaunch the kite in case it falls in the water.

Day 2 – You will learn to exit and enter the water while controlling the kite, learn body dragging (moving in the water) downwind and upwind.

Day 3 – You will learn the waterstart on the board. You will be riding alone but monitored by our instructor. We will explain you the rules, in order to kitesurf among other riders.

Your kid will get very basic wind theory,  play with a kitesurf (specially small and adapted to kids) and will get a diploma at the end! We teach in English, Arabic and Italian.

• Private lesson – 1 on 1
• Little group lesson – 2 to 4 Kids – 1 or more instructor, 
• Big groups/schools – More than 4 kids – Perfect for schools and bigger groups
• A lesson is usually 1.5 hour long

Sailing – a chill day of sail on S/Y Cuba Libre with surf and a final sunset cruise.

BBQ – on Thursday we will have our BBQ and party by the beach. Perfect for relaxing after a good kiting day.

Quad – the island of Sal has some deserted parts and we can rent some quads and go explore

Evenings and live music – we go out every nite to some different venues, bar and restaurant, to enjoy all the Santa Maria has to offer.

Surfing – we will be surfing in the main beach of Santa Maria, with small, medium wave, perfect for learning and having fun or improving your skills.

Yoga – after a long session, nothing better than 1h Yoga with our certified instructor to get fresh and stretch for the day after!
