INTRODUCTION
At Surfhouse Baleal we are pleased to offer our amazing weekly Surf and Yoga programs at one of the most privileged places in Europe to Surf, Baleal Island in Peniche, Portugal.
Located in the region of Peniche, Baleal has become a major vacation spot with a potential for water sports almost unmatched in Europe. The coastal shape, namely the bay and northern strip of coast associated with Baleal create unique conditions in Europe for the practice of surfing and body boarding.
At this beautiful retreat, learn to surf from scratch, improve your surfing skills with our top instructors, relax in Baleal beach just 15 meters from our door and enjoy daily yoga, SUPing and delicious homemade and vegetarian meals for a week that will make you feel completely empowered!
Yoga classes will be held in a small wooden shala on the rooftop. Our enthusiastic instructors will be giving lessons in Ashtanga Vinyasa and restorative yoga.
Our house cosy house is ideal for chilling with the constant background sound of the waves.
THE ACCOMMODATION
Surf House
The house has a great view of the atlantic ocean and is just a few footsteps away from the beach. The house has four bedrooms, with single and double beds. A chill-out area on the roof featuring a jacuzzi and a spacious living room. .
A cozy dining hall, where we will enjoy the meals. This program will allow you to detoxify your body with healthy vegetarian and pesterian meals.

THE ACTIVITIES
7 Day Surf and yoga retreat program to score possibly some of the best waves around Europe and treat your body with mindful stretching and strengthening.
Surfing and SUP
During the week we offer five surf lessons, given by professional surf instructors. With their passion and knowledge about surfing they will make sure that you have the best learning experience possible. Surf equipment is included, and you will also be able to use the gear on your free time. Groups are divided in beginners, intermediate and experienced. The schedule is according to the tide.
Once a week we will give a SUP (stand up paddle) session in the breathtaking Lagoa de Obidos. Followed by a amazing trip to Yoni’s organic farm, where we will be making and enjoying homemade pizza, the proper Italian way.
Yoga
Enjoy daily yoga lessons, provided by our certified instructors. The classes will be held in a small wooden shala on the rooftop. Our enthusiastic instructors will be giving lessons in Ashtanga Vinyasa and restorative yoga. Mats will be provided.

Every day will start with a big fresh breakfast before going to surf right in front of our door. Some days the surf will be in the afternoon and the yoga classes before breakfast.
Then you will have a great lunch prepared in our kitchen. The afternoon is for relaxing or for some optional activities. The jacuzzi is always ready to be used, we recommend during the sunset where you can enjoy an amazing view.
Dinner will be served at 19:30 and you can expect again really nice homemade vegetarian or pescatarian food.

BALEAL, PORTUGAL
Baleal is a small island located 3 kilometres north of Peniche, in the western region of Portugal, separated from the mainland by a tombolo. At the extremity of the island you can find the inaccessible ilhota das Pombas and the ilhéu de Fora.

Our house cosy house its just 15 meters from Baleal beach its ideal for chilling with the constant background sound of the waves. Baleal Island is separated from the mainland by a causeway, creating two beautiful beaches.
These beaches, due to their location and extent, have the particularity to offer a bit of everything, from bathing areas with life guards, to vast dunes of fine white sand where the waves break with more intensity. Its considered to be the best beach to learn surfing in Portugal.
Getting Here
PLANE
The nearest airport is Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). From there we can arrange an airport transfer at an extra cost. From the airport it takes around 60 minutes to reach the location, depending on traffic.
CAR
From Lisbon Take the A8 in the direction of Leiria and drive for 70 Kms until you find exit nº14 to Peniche. Enter the IP6 and follow the direction to Peniche. When you arrive in Peniche you will find a series of roundabouts. On the first 2 roundabouts, you should go straight. On the 3rd roundabout turn right on the 1st exit to Baleal. After 5 minutes driving along the dunes you’ll see Baleal Island on your left side.
BUS
There isn’t a direct bus from the Lisbon airport to the house.
However you can take a taxi (10 Euros) from the Airport to one of the following bus stations:
a) Sete Rios Bus station (10 Euros)
b) Campo grande Bus station (10 Euros)
Just let us know what time your bus arrives in Peniche and one of us will pick you up at the station. Make sure you go all the way until the bus stops in the last & terminal station.
