Surfing in Ventura

Ventura is located in the northwest of Los Angeles and is one of the birthplaces of the surf culture in California. Some of Ventura’s best surf spots gained large recognition after being mentioned in the famous hit “Surfin USA” by The Beach Boys from 1963.. Although part of Ventura’s coast is shadowed by the Channel Islands the County still has good exposure to a wide range of swells and the area has some of the best setups in California especially when west or southwest swells hit the shorelines of Ventura.

The best and most famous surf spots are Rincon, Surfer’s Point, Jalama, Surf Beach and Point Sal.
