Surfing in Maine
Maine is the northernmost state of the east coast of the USA and probably has one of the least explored coastlines in the country. The most popular surfing area is located on the south coast of Maine, from York to Portland. Up north, close to the Canadian border, there are several uncrowded river mouths and sandbars. The problem about this area is the narrow swell window and the long continental shelf that reduce the power of the waves.
