Surfing in Gisborne

Gisbourne is located on the east coast of the north island of New Zealand and is known for having great wineries and good quality surf spots. With a big swell window that can capture any swell from southwest to northeast this is a super consistent surfing area with lots of setups to be explored. Many pro surfers come from Gisborne including New Zealand’s surf legend Maz Quinn giving a reputation to the area of having above average surfers.
