Surfing in Galapagos

Galapagos is a chain of islands located in the Pacific Ocean, approximately 1,000 km west of Ecuador mainland and is known for having abundant wildlife and stunning scenery. More than half of the archipelago belongs to a national park that protects many of the unique animals that live in these islands. Galapagos is also home for world class surf breaks and the main surfing area is located on the island of San Cristobal. The best time to surf in the archipelago is from December to May when strong north swells are predominately and the offshore wind prevail.

The best surf spots are Togo Reef, La Carola, El Canon, Manglecito, Outer Reef and Loberia.
