Surfing in Bahia

Bahia is the largest state of the northeast of Brazil and is known for having strong african cultural heritage and stunning tropical beaches. With 1100km of coastline this area has a big variety of setups that produce high quality waves. The perfect reef breaks are definitely the biggest attractions of this area, but these waves usually only break properly during winter time that goes from June to October. The rest of the year fun beach breaks and long river mouth rides guarantee the fun for the many surfers that live on the shores of this incredibly beautiful tropical state.

The best and most famous surf spots are Itacare, Farol da Barra, Stella Mares and Praia do Forte.
