INTRODUCTION
Our Surf Resort is an incredible nature ambience, located in the foot of Laayon Angkeo Mountain is an amazing place to escape – exclusively for surfers. The Resort provides a scenic great wave to surf with sand beaches right in front of the door and various surf spots around the area.
Strategically located in Simeulue, Aceh, Indonesia it only takes 30 minutes from Lasikin Airport to get here.
Accommodation features a restaurant, shared lounge and garden, provides a 24-hour front desk, room service and currency exchange for guests. We offer double and twin bed sea view rooms with AC and free Wifi, desk and closet, private bathroom and TV.
Resort is located right in front of Monkey tree, the most consistent barreling wave of the island and you can get a good surf session every day, however the conditions are mostly not for the beginners. We have a lot of surf spots in the area: Dylans right, The Peak, T Bags, The Right, Alus Alus and many other spots that offer great waves. In general Simeuleu offers consistently fun to epic surf nearly year-round.
Besides surfing there are plenty of other activities to take advantage of. We can organise diving trips, fishing boats, show you waterfalls, go snorkelling or get you a charter to Northern Banyak Islands for more epic surf.
THE ACCOMMODATION
Our Surf Resort is located right at the beach and all rooms offer ocean view with a magnificent private beach and superb waves. The travellers would gaze longly with the scenic magical waves of Indian Ocean through the spacious area in terrace. Includes a comfy seating set to feel the sense of tropical views of Baturundung private beach.

THE ACTIVITIES
SURFING
Resort is located right in front of Monkey tree, the most consistent barreling wave of the island and you can get a good surf session every day, however the conditions are not for the beginners. In general Simeuleu offers consistently fun to epic surf nearly year-round. These are some of the surf spots in the area:
Monkey Trees
The wave directly in front of our resort. Mainly lefts, with the occasional right.
The Peak
About 15 minutes south by scooter. Works on most swells under 4 meters. The left offers a consistent barrel section. One of the more crowded spots in the area with several surf camps directly in front of the wave.
Dylans Right
A perfect right hander, breaking relatively close to the sharp reef. One of the better waves in the area, with long barrels and numerous turn sections. About 30 minute scooter ride from Resort.
T Bags
Wide-open barrels running down the reef for up to 75 meters. Best on swells over 2 meters, works on all tides and southeast winds.
The Slab
A perfect wave for bodyboarders or bodysurfers. Consistently breaking on all swell directions, swell sizes, and tides, this wave has some perfect barrels, with an occasional air section.
The Right
On small days this is a perfect beginner or long boarding wave, with 50 meter rides possible. When the swell picks up over 3 meters the wave turns into a machine, offering nice barrel and turn sections. The bigger the swell gets, the better this wave is.
Inor
Barrels, turns, and airs are all an option here on this section of reef. Best on a mid-high tide, this is a long right hander with the occasional left.
Kalemo
Very difficult to find, but it is always empty. This spot has everything you need for an epic session. A deepwater channel divides the wave, with a left and a right that are both extremely exposed to swell.
Alus Alus
Works best when the waves are under 2 meters. When its on, its one of the best waves in the area. Onetong
This is a great wave for beginner to intermediate surfers, or those looking for a fun left. Generally a mushy wave, but can offer good rides away from crowds.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
In case you decide to take a break from surfing there are plenty of other activities to take advantage of.
Diving
We have some of the most beautiful untouched coral reefs in Indonesia. If you like to snorkel or scuba dive, there are plenty of options and numerous spots to snorkel near our resort. If you scuba, we can organise dives on the east side of the island known for its famous dive sites.
Fishing
If you like fishing there are many options to choose from. We can get you a hand-line to fish like the locals, or we can organise a boat to go offshore to go catching some big fish.
Waterfall
Just north of our resort there is a wonderful waterfall. We will personally guide you on the hiking trail to get there. After a 20 minute scooter ride, and 2 minutes walk you reach another waterfall with natural rock jumps into the natural pool.
Boat Charter
There are several secret spots nearby that can only be accessed by boat. However some of these waves are only for advanced surfers, requiring a lot of experience and bravery. If you decide you have that, we can arrange a boat charter to The Northern Banyak Islands.
Yoga
We have many Yoga decks on our property and they are are open 24/7 for your enjoyment.
LOCATION & GETTING HERE
Location
Our Surf Resort, is a lovely place, located right in front of Monkey tree, the most consistent barreling wave of the Simeuleu Island with plenty of other surf spots around that truly offer the magical combination of perfect and uncrowded surf. Surf guaranteed every day. Our Resort has a restaurant, so you don´t have to worry about finding food, but there are also little local shops-cafes within 5-10 minute walk.
Getting Here
Travel to Simeulue is relatively easy.
There are numerous flights to Medan each day from Jakarta, Bali and KL.
And from there take a flight to Lasikin Airport in Simeulue.
From the Lasikin Airport of Simeulue District it only takes 30 minutes to get to Resort.
We also provide Free Airport Shuttle service.
