Santa Maria

Santa Maria is the southernmost beach in Sal Island. This 8km (5mi) sandy beach works with inconsistent southwest swells, northeast swells that happen during summer and with large northwest winter swells that wrap around the corner. Santa Maria Beach has friendly beach breaks and a left hander reef break nearby the big hotel and old harbour. The beach is also a popular spot among kite surfers and a great place to watch the sunset.
