Rapa Nui
Easter Island or Rapa Nui as the locals call it, is famous for having almost 1000 mystical Moais statues spread along the island. The Moais are huge monoliths headsĀ made of volcanic basaltic rock, weighing up to 300 tons. They represent the old Rapa Nui royalty that ruled the original tribes and no one can explain how they were transported to different locations without any modern technology. There are all kinds of surf spots in the island from long peeling left handers to beginners friendly waves. The catch is that almost all the coast consists of high cliffs and access can be difficult. There are two beach breaks on the north coast but most of the breaks are located on the west and south coast. This is definitely a magical place worth visiting.
