With more than 10 years of surfing experience, Andrew the ‘captain’ and his wife had prepared and took care even of the smallest details for hundreds of surfers of every level looking to surf in Maldives Northern, Central and Southern atolls..
On board.. of the Maldives Surf Charter we can accommodate up to 20 surfers in comfortable double cabins equipped with Air conditioning, roomy beds and wardrobe. Wi-fi available for extra cost!
The Chef.. will serve you various snacks and 3 meals a day with a delicious mix of Asian, Maldivian and international western cuisine!

With more than 10 years of experience traveling for surfing, Andrew the ‘captain’ and his wife will take care of you aiming to provide you the best surf experience in Maldives as everyone else before on board of the Floating Hotel Surf Charter.
They have shaped and customised various trip around the Central, Southern and Northern Atolls of Maldives from your first foot down in Male up to your last wave of the day! Having sailed the seven-seas to get to Maldives and surfed all around the world, they are understand the needs of every surfer getting here to enjoy its top class waves in this beautiful scenario.
Facilities
A very recently refurbished surf charter, designed and adapted for surfers by surfers. The vessel, supplied of all imaginable comforts to enjoy your surf charter in Maldives islands.
For unexpected situation, we have an office in in Male that keep permanent contact with the boat and organize the logistic necessary for each trip.
The surf charter is equipped with, GPS, sounder, radar, USB radio 16 channels. There is a large terrace on the up deck where the covers of the surfboards are stored, perfect place to view the waves and enjoy our bar where we offer a wide range of fresh fruit juice, soft drinks, liquors, wine and beer. As for safety, the vessel is equipped with, life jackets, oxygen, first aid kit and fire extinguishers. The boat also has snorkeling equipment and local style fishing gears.
SOUTHERN CROSS has 12 bedrooms. Each room has a bathroom. air conditioning, individual spacious beds and personal wardrobe. There is also a spacious living room with a dining table, comfortable sofas, TV, DVD, optional WIFI and completely equipped kitchen.
Food
Adequate diet for energetic activity to enjoy the waves to the full.
The pack includes 3 meals a day apart from the snacks between hours. Fruit, vegetables, meat, fish form the main part of the diet on board.
The chef cooks Western as well as Asian food so the clients may try typical Maldivian food and get to know more about the culinary culture of this country.

THE ACTIVITIES
Surf
Prepare yourself for surfing a few times a day at least ! The best surf breaks are on the outer reefs, one very close to the other.. It will be easy to find good surf !
Maldives has some of the best waves in the world. Its waves roll perfectly over live shallow reefs and are not considered super powerful as swell normally doesn’t reach higher than 2 or 2.5 meters.
Surf in Maldives is famous for its warm water temperatures all year round, perfect barrels and long funny waves with amazing surrounding scenarios. No doubt the Maldives are the ideal surf trip for intermediate and advanced surfers.
North Male Atolls
The North Male Atolls have been popular with surfers for quite some time thanks to a variety of spots that stay fairly consistent, especially in the prime summer months when south swells are in abundance. There is an assortment of spots scattered around these idyllic islands ranging from long points to hollow sucking barrels that can accommodate all levels of surfing. Although west to southwest winds are the norm at this time of year many of the breaks in this island reef chain are well protected and will remain clean, while others will be offshore. Crowding can sometimes be an issue because of the relatively easy access of the breaks courtesy of the many boats in this wave rich zone and due to the resorts that shuttle surfers out to the breaks.
Central/ Southern Atolls
The Central Atolls including the Meemu, Thaa and Laamu and the Outer (Southern) Atolls including Gaafu Dhaalu and Addu offer more than 30 world class reef breaks that are rarely surfed. All three atolls have great exposure to south swells and there are plenty of reef-pass setups that will often see big waves.
The beauty of surfing these island chains is that there are many spots within a short distance of each other and waves that will accommodate every level of surfing. As the only means of access to these atolls is by charter boat, those lucky enough to have ventured there have been reaping the rewards, and with nobody else around. Crowding is not an issue in the Central and Southern Atolls !

LOCATION & GETTING HERE
Location
The best way to reach these more distant spots is by charter boat, and while it might take just a bit longer to get there, you and your mates will likely be the only people in the water ! The Boat is usually anchored next to Sultans in the Northern male atolls where the best waves are.
Sitting in the Indian Ocean the Maldives are a group of coral islands straddling the equator southwest of India and west of Sri Lanka. There are about 1,200 islands and roughly 200 of those are inhabited.
There are many places around the globe that surfers would define as paradise and the Maldives is definitely at the top of the list. As a destination for surfing perfect waves over a crystal clear reef in a tropical setting it doesn’t get much better than this.
The Maldives is a perfect surf holiday destination because of a warm year round tropical climate where the temperatures range from 25°C (77°F) to 33°C (90°F) throughout the year and the water temperature remains at about 26°C (80°F) all year round.
Getting Here
The Maldives Surf Charter boat crew will be waiting for you at the arrivals of the Male international airport. For the surf trips around the southern and central atolls is necessary to book an internal flight from Male capital to the boat meeting point departure and arrival. We will assist and book this for you.
