Where else in the world are your primary concerns a) the temperature of your beer and b) trying not to get too much sun? Where each and every day is a cycle of eating, surfing and drinking, and the nights are spent partying it up in the streets of San Sebastian. Wake up surrounded by verdant hills and gorgeous coastal views, to the sound of rustling leaves and twittering birds at our Zarautz clifftop campsite (it’ll make you never want to leave)! Our little slice of paradise, just 20 minutes outside of San Sebastian, is a combination of breathtaking landscapes (mountains and beaches), intriguing Basque culture, award-winning food, insane waves, and beautiful weather! Oh, and we forgot to mention all of the crazy parties, in a city that can boast having the most bars per square meter in the world.

Your meals are prepared, beers cold, tents made up for your arrival and party nights arranged as frequently as you like. Too easy mate! Zarautz Beachside Surf Camp is waiting. Come hang and make friends with our crew from all over the world, sharing travel tales over a beer or seven(teen?) or a sangria if that’s more your jam (unlimited for €10 per day). Everyone’s welcome, from beginners to the most accomplished surf dudes and dudettes, our surf instructors are fun, friendly and happy to help.

Accommodation options for our Beachside Surf Camp are mostly in tents (INTENSE!!!) and we wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s something about camping that makes for a great party – being a recluse is nearly impossible, while the feeling of community is high; for a few days we’re all sort of living under the same roof, and that roof is made of nylon and stars. In hotels everybody sticks to themselves, inside, on the bed watching TV; but when you’re bed is in a tent, and your chill area is outside, and the common area is the open bar, you’re almost forced to have fun – which is what we’re all here for, right? Yeah we are. But sometimes we know that our beloved guests are carrying a little extra cash, and would willingly drop it on a better night’s sleep, especially when you’ve been on the road for a little while. Enter our Glamping Palaces, a sleeping arrangement that lives somewhere on the luxurious side of living outside, comfortable camping, terrific tents, snug sleeping arrangements. The Glamping options won’t break the bank, and it definitely won’t alienate you from you fellow campers, but it will make you just that little more… comfortable, cozy, and as such better rested for whatever chaotic festivities await you during your waking hours.

Bookings open 30 June – 22 July, 7 – 16 August, 2020.

And if National Geographic says we’re located in one of the World’s Top 20 Surf Towns, well who are we to dispute it! Our killer surf instructors will take you out for your two hour lessons each day – don’t worry they’ll have you tearing up the waves in no time!

This is a guide itinerary, but not like a school camp itinerary – quite the contrary. This will give you an idea of what a day might look like for you at our Zarautz Beachside Camp.  There’s always something for you to do, but it’s your holiday so feel free to lay on the beach, have a beer or go on an adventure with your new bunch of mates.

Morning

Wake up to a home cooked breakfast at camp and exchange stories from last night’s antics, read the surf report and get excited to head out surfing. Grab your board and either scout out the best banks on the beach or head into your lesson with one of our surf instructors.

Afternoon

When you’re all surfed out, we’ll kick it at the beach, or back up at camp with an icy sangria in hand. If you’re feeling bendy, join a yoga class on the beach, or come out on a hike, head into town and explore, join in on a Spanish Class, head back down to the beach for another surf or just kick back and relax!

Evening

If you’re the sensible type you can get in a good night’s sleep and be up bright and early for sunrise yoga and breathtaking views out over the beach. If some more drinks, music and exploring sound more like you, then either join us on a pintxos tour in Zarautz or San Sebastian, a trip to a traditional Basque cider house or head out to one of the many festivals that are on throughout the season.
