INTRODUCTION
Ahangama Surf and Yoga BOutique Camp resides in a growing Eden of relaxation. Situated on the golden south coast of Sri Lanka, find yourself watching the sunrise, meditating in the waves of our local surf spot, enjoying the Pura Vida!
After a powerful and healthy breakfast, find a shaded hammock and read a book from our little library relaxing your body from the morning surfing and yoga. But who knows, there might be another wave around the corner; never try – never know!
If you are feeling adventurous, explore the local area with its colorful markets and ancient temples, dance along the slackline or recharge your batteries by the swimming pool. LOCATION & GETTING HERE
Location
SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) is an island nation south of India in the Indian Ocean. Its diverse landscapes range from rainforest and arid plains to highlands and sandy beaches. It’s famed for its ancient Buddhist ruins, including the 5th-century citadel Sigiriya, with its palace and frescoes. The city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s ancient capital, has many ruins dating back more than 2,000 years. The surroundings are fantastic with lots of wildlife and beautiful nature.
Mirissa
Mirissa is only a 20 minutes ride away. Mirissa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in the Matara District of the Southern Province. Mirissa’s beach and night life make it a popular tourist destination. It is also a fishing port and one of the island’s main whale and dolphin watching locations. Also if you are looking for a wider range of restaurants and nightlife it is the place to go.
Ahangama
The Yoga & Surf Camp is located in Ahangama, a small surfing village located about 3 hours south of the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo. The Ahangama and Midigama area are home to the most consistent, and possibly the best, surf in Sri Lanka. It’s a very low-key area with plenty of cheap surfer-friendly accommodation and a scattering of pretty beaches (though the road often runs very close to the shore).
Visa is Required
You will need a visa to enter Sri Lanka. You can get a short stay visa online at: Electronic Travel Authority (ETA).. Tourist visas are normally issued for a maximum period of 30 days. Although it’s still possible to get a tourist visa on arrival, it’s better to get one before you travel. If you arrive in Sri Lanka without a visa, you could face delays.
You can obtain ETA at: http://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/
Vaccination and Health
For most short-term travellers the usual recommended vaccinations for Sri Lanka include cover against the childhood diseases (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Poliomyelitis, Measles, Mumps and Rubella) as well as cover against the food and water borne diseases of Typhoid and Hepatitis A (highly recommended).
It is highly recommended to get a travel health insurance.
