The surf school has been teaching surfing since 2007. Over ten years of experience in teaching and putting smiles on faces of our students. We have an unbeatable knowledge of the surf spots in the area, being pioneers in surf training in this region.

The head surf coach of Surf Camp Lagide is Pedro “Ginjas”, who has been surfing at Baleal over twenty years and training aspiring surfers for ten years. All our instructors are highly experienced surfers, and their skills have been approved by the Portuguese Surf Federation.

We take into account both physical and personal characteristics of each surfer, who comes to us, giving a tailored and personalized coaching.

Check out Lagide SURF CAM here!

We only have a maximum of 6 students per teacher, allowing us to offer a highly efficient and focused surf progress and positive experience. We believe that every student is different and requires equal attention in and out of the water.

Our coaches will monitor progress closely, giving advice and feedback in the water and on the beach. Extremely worthy video analysis will be reviewed in the lounge of our Surf Camp Lagide. A video is worth a thousand words.

A wast choice of equipment allows us to select boards and wetsuits that will match your ability and ensure your desired progress.

Rather than sticking to a nonflexible timetable, you can rely on your instructors to take you out on the best possible conditions for your level every day or even twice per day.

We have been sharing the incredible waves of our region with friends for over 25 years. The surf guiding in our surf camp is all about trying to help our guests to explore more hidden waves that only the locals know of.

The position of Surf Camp Lagide allows us to check out the conditions just by looking out the window and we instantly know, which spots will work best today. Then, we drive to the chosen spot and either surf with you or film your session, upon your request. From beach breaks to uncrowded rocky point breaks, in a good week of surf, you can get it all!

Surf material in our Surf Camp Lagide come from some of the best brands in the market. We always strive to match the equipment to your surfing abilities. A vast range of surfboards from soft top beginner boards to way more advanced Lost fibreglassed surfboards. A wide range of LOST surfboards with FCS fins is available at our surf camp. Our expert surf coach Ginjas can advise you on your board choice depending on conditions of the day.

We partnered up with a Kite surfing school nearby.

There are a few racing tracks in the region (in Lourinha and another in Bombarral)

This region is particularly rich in fish, and we have good relationships with the local fishermen that can arrange a fishing sessions.

The unique island is just 1 hour away from Peniche, and it has its own flora and fauna.

Reserve one of the clay courts in Peniche or even one of the hard courts in Baleal. You will find some keen tennis players amongst the surf camp team!

Eighty kilometers north of Lisbon, Peniche is one of Portugal’s busiest fishing harbor. An island unto the 12th Century, it is now connected to the mainland via a narrow causeway bordered by long sandy beaches.

“Fortaleza” was one of Portugal’s most notorious jails, which now has become an impressive monument against fascism.

Peniche has been a magnet for surfers for at over a decade, due to the vast variety of surf spots working in different conditions and all within a fifteen kilometers radius. Swells that come from the North can be breathtaking on the northern beaches. The place offers powerful waves, such as the world-famous “Supertubos” perfect wave. North of Peniche, crowds thin out considerably.

Costa da Prata

The region of Peniche and Costa da Prata (Silver Coast) is renowned for its miles long beaches and the Berlanga Islands, a small rocky archipelago listed as a natural reserve and a favorite destination for divers when the season is right. Scheduled ferries take tourists from Peniche to the main island. Close by is walled town Obidos.

Odidos is an excellently preserved medieval town is a maze of narrow streets, and small squares lined up by churches and lovely whitewashed houses with flower-bedecked windows. The town was a leading merchant harbor until the 16th century when river access to the ocean was silted up. Obidos town lost importance, and its development was paused, the town remaining pretty much the same ever since. Now, the tranquil waters of the Obidos (Arelho) lagoon have become a favorite spot for windsurfers and its river mouth now is a reputed surf spot.
