Surf School

It is a mobile surf school that will bring you surfing at the beach with best surf conditions. Depending on the seasons, surf forecast, and level or objectives of our guest surfers, our Surf Guides circulates to the following beaches – Carcavelos, S. Pedro do Estoril, Guincho, Praia Grande, Ericeira, Arrifana, Peniche (amazing barrels), Caparica, Baleal.

The surf school prides itself in giving first class instruction and highly skilled and experienced staff, where the attention focuses on the surf safety and ocean awareness of pupils.  They also keep a wide range of boards and wetsuits and continuously invest on having the best equipment to ensure you can get the most of your surfing adventure.

The school offers the best training program possible and guarantees our guests to be up and riding waves shortly while having fun, so that is the goal – having a good time all-round while developing and evolving the skills needed to have the time of your life in the water.

Surf instruction combine theory and practice to help pupils to improve their surfing skills quickly and steadily. If the north wind wind and swell gets too strong and the waves too big to surf the west coast, we can always place ourselves in 15 minutes in the Carcavelos river mouth with perfect glassy conditions.

Surf Guiding

Surf guided tours will take the experienced surfer to ride the best waves on Lisbon’s coast, with one of the most experienced portuguese surfer and former European Master Champion considered the father of Surfing in Portugal.

Our surf guides are fully certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation to ensure you the best training and support inside and outside the water, assisting every step of the way using photo and video analyses to keep track of your progress.

If you are staying at a hotel on the Estoril Coast or in Lisbon, the Surfcamp provides a shuttle service which will pick you up and take you surfing.

The fishing village of Guincho lies on the Estoril Coast, also known as Lisbon Riviera. This stretch of coast extending for 30 miles east of the capital on the Atlantic goes all the way from the surfspots of Carcavelos, just outside Lisbon, trough the seaside resorts of Estoril and Cascais, to end up in the folds of the Serra da Sintra and the famous surf, wind and kite spot of Guincho beach.

Southern Atlantic, Mediterranean like climate : mild, wet winters and warm, dry summers.

Protected from the cold northern wind by the Sintra range, a Mediterranean climate but with Atlantic swell awaits surfers here, with mild winter, hot summers and spring-like autumn with perfect offshore glassy waves. The region offers an attractive mix of sea, nature, city and historical treasures within a small area of a one hour drive radius.

Once a small fishing village at the foot of the Sintra mountain range, the fate of Cascais changed in 1870 when the royal court came here for summer, with a trail of nobility in its wake. These have left their mark on the village and turned it into a quaint seaside resort. Today, Cascais is a favourite weekend destination for the people of Lisbon and a reputed international holiday destination.

It is also famous for its racetrack, venue of the annual motorbike Grand Prix. With a reputation as a playground of monarchs, Estoril is the chic resort along the Lisbon Riviera that gave its name to the coast – Costa do Estoril. The grand hotel Palacio, the Casino and the long beaches are the flagships of this seaside resort.

Inland, the resort town of Sintra shelters at the foot of the pine covered Serra da Sintra mountain range. One of the oldest town in the country, Sintra was long favoured by the Portuguese Royalty and the English aristocracy as a summer retreat, as did the Moors long before them – the town was captured by the crusaders back in 1147. A favourite place of Lord Byron, the small town is a stylish and romantic architectural complex of lush gardens, old palaces and glamourous villas listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

One of the greatest maritime centres in history and the sailing harbour of the great Portuguese Discoverers such as Magellan. In its golden age, the city rivaled with Seville, Venice or London as the the centre of the world. One of the few European capitals to have both river and sea front, Lisbon  spreads across several hills overlooking the Tagus estuary, spanned by a towering suspended bridge, at his mouth on the Atlantic Ocean. Lisbon is charming capital with a laid back atmosphere and ramshackle glamour. Crisscrossed by narrow lanes with rattling streetcars and lovely backstreets, the town is a mix of pastel-coloured houses, grand palaces, old castles and monuments. In striking contrast with the historic city centre, the new waterfront development that hosted the World Exposition offers a wide choice of entertainment, sporting and business facilities.
