Mehdia beach Surf Camp - Kenitra, Northern. Morocco
INTRODUCTION
This beautiful surf camp which is just a 2 minute walk away from the beach is an oasis of world travellers and locals alike where you will feel right at home. It has two bungalows which can be shared as well as a private studio. The large outdoor dining area and the rooftop chill out terrace with hammocks is probably where you will spend most of your time, when you’re not on the waves!
Our guests have access to free wifi and a library of books and magazines on surfing and travels. Fresh and delicious breakfast, lunch and dinners homemade with local produce are included in the weekly packages.
Besides surfing, surfing and surfing, you will also love the gorgeous sunsets on the kilometres long beach as well as the morning bird songs thanks to the Sidi Boughaba Natural Reserve right behind Mehdia which is on the migratory route between Europe and Africa of hundreds of species of birds.
THE ACCOMMODATION
The surf camp is made up of two bungalows, a private studio, a large semi-outdoor dining area and two rooftop terraces all surrounded by lush vegetation.
The Bungalows each have:
– A shared bed bunk room for up to 5 guests
– A double room (double bed or two single beds)
– A shared living room area
– A shared bathroom
The Private Studio has:
– A double bed and two single beds
– A private ensuite bathroom
The rooftop terraces have:
– A covered area to enjoy the terrace even if it rains
– Hammocks and long chairs
– Tables to have meals or write
– Drying lines to dry your bathing suits or wetsuits super quickly

The surf camp can sleep a maximum of 17 people although there have been times when the roof top terraces have become improvised sleeping grounds in order to host even more people! Weekly all-included packages are available and contact us directly for special group rates if you are a group of 7 or more.
First time surfers to expert surfers and everyone in between are welcome and will all leave having learned something new, enjoyed many waves and most probably having made new friends! Although the winter months are best for weathered surfers as the conditions are usually too harsh for new surfers.
You may check in any time between 2 pm and 10 pm however give us heads up so we can be expecting you because we spend most of our time in the water!
THE ACTIVITIES
Surf Lessons
Surf lessons are offered daily based on your level and on the conditions of the ocean. There are no set schedules here, we flow with the waves like all surfers must!
Surf Guiding
If there are no waves in Mehdia, Boomy always has other spots up his sleeves that he can take guests to in his 4×4. If you are an expert surfer with specific surf spots in mind contact us and we can organize personalized excursions.
Other Activities
During your free time you can enjoy the hammocks in the chill out area of the roof top terrace. Books and magazines on surfing are available for all to enjoy. There is also free wifi and … surprises! Someone might bring games, a guitar, the slack line might be up or we could suddenly end up painting and drawing on a wall in the surf camp! If the ocean is flat, Boomy will almost always find a wave nearby or an excursion to surrounding sites which will always be interesting. Other activities of interest can be visiting the Sidi Boughaba Natural Reserve, the Mehdia Kasbah, the traditional Rabat Medina or going for a relaxing Hammam session.
LOCATION & GETTING HERE
Location
We are located in the small beach town of Mehdia, close to the city of Kenitra and just 40 km away from Rabat.
The surf camp is a two minute walk away from the beach where there are almost always beach break waves. Close by is the Charatan wave, a river wave frequented mostly by expert surfers. And on the other side of the Sebou river you will find the deserted Chelihate beach with even more beach breaks.
There are a number of cafés and a few restaurants in Mehdia but nowhere will the food be as delicious as in the surf camp! The freshly made donuts sold on the beach are a must though if you like donuts. There are also a couple of pharmacies in Mehdia but we recommend that you bring with you the medical supplies you will need for your trip.
The nearest train station is 12 km away in Kenitra and the nearest airport is the Rabat-Salé airport just 40 km away.
The main season lasts from April to November, however great waves for more experienced surfers also exist during the winter months.
Getting Here
The Rabat-Salé airport is served by direct flights from numerous European airports with airlines like Ryan Air, Royal Air Maroc, Tui Fly and Air France.
If you want to come visit us from within Morocco it will be best to take a train to Kenitra.
