The sub tropical coastline of the S\u00e3o Paulo has many good quality surf breaks that has produced two world surfing champions, Gabriel Medina from Maresias and Adriano de Souza from Guaruj\u00e1. Most of the surf spots are beach breaks but the area also has some points, bays and jetties that can create good surf. The best surf spots in the area are located around the city of Ubatuba and Itamanbuca. There are also good waves near the capital but these spots can get extremely crowded.
