All our instructors have the required credentials (achieved by the Portuguese surf federation and ASI) and a wide knowledge and experience in surfing on educational level as well as in competing. We will show our beautiful beaches around and choose the best spot of the day so everyone learns also how to read the surfconditions as well.

Portugal’s North-West coast has a consistent swell all year round. This in combination with many uncrowded and untouched spots makes this the perfect place to surf! The beach breaks are ideal for beginners to learn how to surf. And because of the many uncrowded beaches you really get to focus on the surf. Along a 15 km coastline there are more than 20 clean beach breaks with waves for all levels.

The most famous and consistent wave is Espinho, also host of several surf events! It is known for its long and ‘barreling’ right-hander. For intermediate surfers the best wave is Cagalhotos, a long and easy right, perfect for you to develop your surf manoeuvres. In front of the house there is a fast and fun left-hander. South of the house you will find the multiple peaks of the natural beaches located in Maceda Natural Park, where the surf is in complete harmony with nature in its purest form.

The North of Portugal is technically the birthplace of nowadays Portugal, as this is the place from where Portugal started expanding to the Portugal as we know it today. It has a unique historical patrimony where genuine traditions are still alive. It has always been famous for it’s gastronomy, wine production and the hospitality of it’s residents.

The house is located in the picturesque and traditional fisherman’s village of Praia de Esmoriz. Close by you will find multiple great uncrowded surfspots and the beautiful forest of Maceda Nature Park. Besides surfing there are many other things around, such as a great skatepark in the forest, kart racing, wake surfing, cycling (we have bikes for rent) and a breathtaking national park a bit North-West of Porto.

In the village itself are some nice restaurants, bars, traditional shops, atm and a supermarket. There are also some beautiful places to visit outside Praia de Esmoriz:

Porto is 30 km north of Esmoriz and it takes only a 30 minute train ride to get to the historical centre of Porto. In 2001 Unesco Foundation elected Porto as ‘European Capital of Culture’, thanks to its beautiful architecture, wine making traditions (Port wine), gastronomy and unique characteristics. The city of Porto is right next to the Atlantic ocean and the famous Douro river, the ideal place to chill out by the beach, or enjoy the city’s social life and breathtaking views.

Aveiro is 40 km south of Esmoriz and it takes a 40 minute train ride from Esmoriz to the city centre. Aveiro is known for its unique geographical features where sea and land connect in a strange way creating Inner City Rivers. Therefore it is called the Portuguese “Venetia” and is a truly romantic city. In Aveiro are several Universities located, which gives the city a young and well-animated population where parties and concerts occur on a daily base.

Santa Maria da Feira is only 8 km east of Esmoriz and it takes a 10 minute ride by car to the town centre. The city is internationally known for its special annual event “Medieval Fest”, where the city literally goes back in time, taking you back to the way it was 400 years ago. The whole population parties and welcomes the large number of visitors. At night the old part of town has animated bars and impressive nightclubs.

The North of Portugal is located along the Atlantic ocean and therefore has a sea climate with mild winters (16 c°) and warm summers (27 c°). The water temperature varies between 15 c° and 20 c°. Because of a nice sea breeze it almost never gets too hot.
