INTRODUCTION
Kite Camp Italy in Porto Botte is one of the best and most windy spots in Sardinia and Italy. Sardinia offers sunny weather, constant wind. Beautiful beaches stretch out for miles. Crystal clear water is so calm, you can stand in the water for 100m. At Kite Camp Italy you will be treated and homemade Italian food made of locally grown ingredients, which will make feel like you found your Italian home. You can even join your lovely hosts in the kitchen and learn some authentic Italian home cooking secrets!
In Sardinia you will have quality kiting, beautiful varied nature, good food and colourful sunsets. The kite school is the only one in Porto Botte, who has a licence to teach, so you will have plenty of space to practice. Your hosts have over ten years of experience teaching in Porto Botte, and they will make sure that your stay in Sardinia is enjoyable.
If you already know how to kite, there are plenty of others to inspire and motivate you, and the place is perfect for practicing tricks, filming and taking photos.
Imagine to wake up to a lovely breakfast with homemade bread, cheese, Italian ham, cake, marmalade and tomatoes from the garden, and more. The wind normally kicks in at 11, so you have time to enjoy the morning, the food and the view. You will be taken to the kitespot, ten minutes by car.
Beginners will meet up with the instructor and start the kite course. There are only two participants on each instructor, so you are guaranteed that you learn a lot during the time you have. Learners (Level 2) will meet up with your coach and make a plan for the week. You will be one on one with the instructor, so you are guaranteed improve significantly during the time you have.
Advanced kite surfers (Basic Package) together with the other kiters you will be motivated to try out new things. There is one hour coaching included during the week. A week with good wind in Sardinia will boost your level and skills.
You will return to the camp when the sun goes down (around 19:00). At additional fee you can participate at a delicious dinner with Italian wine. The hosts will take you to favourite restaurants in Sant Antioco and Carbonia two nights during the camp week.
Camps run from May to October. Arrival day is every Saturday.




















THE ACCOMMODATION
THE VILLA
At the host’s farm there are friendly pigs, hens, goats, goose and ducks. They also home grow vegetables and fruits. The elder generation of your hosts produce meat, milk, cheese, eggs, marmalades, veggies, honey etc. They will be proud to serve their delicious homemade food during your stay. Wake up to tea, coffee, biscuits, bread fresh from the oven, homemade cheese, marmalade and Sardinian ham from the area and seasonal fruits, and get ready for a day filled with activities.
FACILITIES
Garden: There is a big and cosy garden, wifi and a TV. There are beautiful areas for running if you want to get some exercise before breakfast.
Double Rooms: There are four double rooms. There are double beds in all the rooms, so you have to book together with a friend (or book the whole room) if you want this option.
Dorms: To share a room is a nice way to meet other people. There are two dorms, each of them with four beds.
MEALS
Breakfast is included in the price. There is a small fridge where you can keep some personal food, for example to make lunch. It is also possible to buy food and drinks in the café at the kite spot. You can eat dinner together at the camp five days during the week (price: 15 -20 EUR ink drink per dinner). Grandma makes delicious Italian food, often with their home-produced food from the farm. The hosts will take you to his favourite restaurants in the area two days during the week (price: 15 EUR per dinner).
THE ACTIVITIES
LEVEL 1
This package is for complete beginners, or for people who only have tried kiting few times. Professional instructors will closely monitor you, and they will make sure that you develop your skills in line with your level. The goal for you is to have fun kiting, feel safe, be hooked on the sport and meet new fun people you can travel with later. The conditions for learning are perfect: You have plenty of space, flat, shallow water and consistent wind.

LEVEL 2
Level 2 is for kiters who have taken lessons before and want more comfort and guiding in the water. Whether you are dreaming about your first boardstart, upwind riding or jumping, this is the course for you. In level 2, you will have a personal coach, who will start at your level and lead you to progression.

ROCKCLIMBING
Sardinia has long being known as a rock-climbing destination with its wild and spectacular rocky interior and coastline. There are many established sport climbing crags across the island, and one of them is Porto Pino where you will most likely go during your stay. You can climb the 11-meter cliff for jumping!
REMEMBER
Remember towels for beach, sunblock, sunhat, earplugs, mosquito repellent and a warm hoodie/jacket for the evenings.
Bring a long 4/3 wetsuit + a shorty for warmer days if you travel in April, Mai or September. If you travel during the summer months you are good with a bikini/boardshorts during the day and a shorty in the evenings.
Wetsuits are not included in the beginner package!
Bring climbing shoes if you want to explore the climbing areas.

Sardinia is a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea. It has nearly 2,000km of coastline, sandy beaches and a mountainous interior crossed with hiking trails. Its rugged landscape is dotted with thousands of nuraghi – mysterious Bronze Age stone ruins shaped like beehives. One of the largest and oldest nuraghi is Su Nuraxi in Barumini, dating to 1500 B.C.
Sardinia (”Isola del Vento”) is situated in the Mediterranean between Italy, Spain, Tunis and South of Corsica. It’s which makes it a place with the most beautiful kite spots you can imagine, offering both waves and flatwater lagoons. You can spot beautiful pink flamingos in the ponds next to the kitespot.

Getting Here
Arrival- and departure day is Saturdays (Arrival- and departure day will be on Sunday during easter).
FLYING TO SARDINIA
Cagliari is the nearest airport (CAG), approximately one-hour drive from the camp.
SAS Airlines.
They have flights from Oslo, Stavanger, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen with a stop in Roma.
EasyJet
Flies directly from London Gatwick.

TO THE CAMP
Transfer
The camp will organize transfer to and from the airport in Cagliari for an additional fee. Send the camp an email with your flight number and arrival time if you want to be picked up.
The price depends on the amount of people sharing (35-80 euro per person).
By Train
If you don’t have anyone to split the taxi with, you can take a train from the airport to train stop Carbonia.
Those of you who prefer to take the train from the Airport to the camp can check the train hours at http://www.trenitalia.com/ Type what time you want to depart from “Cagliari-Elmas”. Your arrival destination is “Carbonia Serbariu”.
The transfer from the train station in Carbonia to the camp is 10 euro.
Note that the last train leaves Cagliari Elmas (Airport) at 20:45!
