It’s all happening here at Lagos Surf Camp! Embark on a journey to Algarve’s surfing Mecca with a fine mix of qualified English and Aussie know-how with +45 years of surfing experience combined. The staff will strive for you to surf great waves in beautiful locations, tone up, feel fitter and tanned, relax, chill out or just surf hard. You will become a real surfer or just remember how it was like to be one! Daily cruising to the best surf spots of the south and west coast of the Algarve in search of the best conditions to suit your level of surfing ability.
We kicked off in 1992. It pre-dates pretty much everything out there and was created for love rather than money. The same philosophy continues. We provide Surf School, Surf Camp, Surf Training Weeks,Yoga Weeks & Surf Instructor Courses. All this centrally located in the lively & beautiful beach town of Lagos Portugal in accommodation choices of Townhouse, Pensão and Boutique apartment…
The Surf House is an adapted town house in the hearth of beautiful, exciting lagos. The house is social, full of features and has cool decor. The Pensao is 90 seconds away from the Surf House in a centrally located quite street. The Boutique is also same distance from the Surf House, fully equipped modern apartment. Embellished with wooden decor. Perfect for families and private groups.

THE ACTIVITIES
Surf Lessons
Each morning, our instructors select the day’s best beach from the Algarve’s quietest, friendliest, and most beautiful spots, then we load up the trucks and head out. Surfers are grouped by ability – from complete beginners to advanced – with one-on-one coaching available when needed, and we flexibly switch spots if conditions or your level require it. The advanced will surf reef and point breaks while beginners will enjoy smaller beach breaks in which they can improve without stress.
Daily 2 × 90-minute sessions (around lunch, tide-optimised) focus on your progression: standing up, catching green waves, or building backline confidence. Lessons are delivered by our friendly, fully qualified instructors, always prioritising your goals through enjoyment.
Surf Safari / Search Weeks
We will have selected weeks either side of summer whereby one LANDROVER heads out with only one target – score the best waves possible.
Although we do our very best to separate surfers, intermediates and beginners whenever possible throughout the year sometimes it becomes a little challenging so these weeks are created for you as a “surfer” to aim for as an absolute guarantee you will have a dedicated driver and guide to go surf with for everyday of a specific week.
No extra charge on these weeks and loaded separately with the same amazing trademark lunches.
You will be filmed at least 3 times over the week and can view at your pleasure after the day. Basic pointers given and also a great way for us and yourself to grade yourselves on the IAMBANDS scales.
On request we can bring a pro surf photographer on one of the days which is highly recommended.

Surf Spots
The south-western Algarve is a surfing destination unrivaled anywhere in Europe and unique in the way that it will give you a genuine taste of surfing lifestyle. Wave size and quality range from average to epic, with an assortment of reefs and beach breaks. The beauty of this corner of the world is due to the variety of its waves, which will suit everyone’s standards, and their constancy throughout the year – good waves break year round.
Waves break both on the Southern and Western coasts, always providing a surfing alternative according to the swell and within a maximum thirty minute drive. The surf itself is surrounded by wide and breathtaking scenery, with steep reddish cliffs, wide sandy beaches and no real estate developments or seaside resorts in sight. The whole area is protected and forms part of the Natural Park. The access to the beaches is by dirt tracks twisting through a spectacular scenery.
Yoga
We move our COMPLIMENTARY YOGA weeks to this spot approximately 2 mins away from the main surf house.
As an added bonus we take the whole space which will now include ICE BATH , INFARED SAUNA and HOT SHOWER – all for no extra cost within these weeks.

Lagos Surf Camp is at the very heart of the vibrant and ancient coastal town of Lagos. Plenty of bars, clubs and restaurants at your doorstep for those in want of exciting night life, and Lagos has plenty of it ! This ancient town on Algarve’s southern coast is a nice mix of traditional Portuguese lifestyle and cosmopolitan partying with tourists from Northern Europe.
